Doug Collins decided to move Jordan to the point guard spot against Seattle on March 11th 1989. He finished that game with 15 assists. Two days later, he had a game of 21/14/14 against the Pacers in just 30 minutes of playing time in a 32-point blowout win. He reached the triple double mark in just 21 minutes. Jordan continued to play at the PG spot until the end of the season. In these 24 games he averaged 29.3ppg, 8.9rpg, 10.6 apg, 2.4spg. Between March 24 and April 14, 1989, he recorded a triple double in ten of the eleven games, including seven consecutive ones. In the game he didn't record a triple double, he finished with 40 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.

It will be interesting to see how these Jordan vs. LeBron threads trend now that LJ isn't in Cleveland.

Before LeBron bolted there could easily have been made a case. Since leaving it's pretty clear he doesn't have the nads to want the ball when it matters. As far as I'm concerned the discussion is over.

Before LeBron bolted there WAS no case. Whether LeBron is in Cleveland, Miami or anywhere else, it won't matter until he wins a ring. Much less six.

Yet for the better part of the last five years or so Lebron supporters were coming on here (and the other site) already clamoring he was better than Jordan. There were numerous thread on the subject.

I was in that thread as well. It was the same old crap from the same people-- they acted as if Jordan got those numbers against a bunch of white guys with crew cuts and Chuck Taylor's. Jordan > Lebron, D-Wade, et al.

At the time, no. But if LeBron had won 6 in Cleveland the case would be there. Winning 6 in Miami wont even put him ahead of Bird, Magic, Kobe, etc let alone Jordan. He had the CHANCE, now there is ZERO!

What the fuck is up with the constant "white guy" comments on here?

I mean when someone wins a spelling bee, or any kind of academic award, would we be able to say, "the competition was tough, it's not like he went up against a bunch of black guys"?

And to me, over the years, it looks like black guys, for the most part, aren't smart enough to grasp running an offense as a QB either. But I'm sure MY post will be deleted.

The point of my post was that certain posters often commented that Jordan got his numbers against lesser athletes. I often joked they acted as if he played back in the 50's, instead of the 80's and 90's when the athletes were much more athletic. I certainly realize there were some great white b-ball players even up to the 90's (Bird, Stockton, Dan Marjele,Rik Smits, Danny Ainge, etc.).
