Depends on what they do in the next couple months.

They could use the $15 TPE and MLE to go out and upgrade the roster to compete for the 6-7-8 seeds.

OR

They could blow the team up and start stock piling more draft picks onto the 4 receiving from Miami and their own future picks.

People are truly nuts. The Cavs will easily be a playoff team next year. Easily. Wins will number in the 40's.

Less than the number of pointless LeBron/Cavs threads that twoquickforeyou has started/will start.

I agree with Footwedge. This roster has talent (obviously not enough to do anything serious) but they will contend for a 5-8 seed in the East.. Especially if (when) they make some moves.

Yeah, but that's probably the only day of the season you could really have Lebron come to Cleveland.

I can see this convo playing out.

"I'm taking my sniper to the game, gonna kill that sun'bitch Lebron...fuckin traitor"

"Dude.......it's Christmas....."

"Yeah, shit, you're right...."

No more than 30 wins. Varejao will disappear without Lebron and won't be near as effective. Mo is just not that good as he was made out to be, no center right now, West is a complementary player, and Jamison is the best player on the team. I feel bad for the Cavs and their fans for how this played out but unless they make some sort of splash in the remainder of free agency, I just can't see them in the playoffs right now.

I think they are a 25 win team as they stand now. A couple of additions could help, but I wouldn't be disappointed if they went into full rebuild mode. Unlike the Dolans, I trust Gilbert to make this team into a contender.

The rumor is going for Al Jefferson with the trade exception. Team could easily be 40-45 wins if that happens.

Anyone saying less than 30 has no idea what they're talking about. If they were that bad they wouldn't have won 60 games in back to back years even with LeBron. He is obviously a great player but you're saying he's a difference of 30-40 wins? If that's the case than the Heat should have no problem winning 70 next year.

^^ Who is going to consistenly score for them and carry them? Mo? West? Varejao? Jamison? Lebron made them go and made every single guy on that team better and without him, they will be lucky to get in the playoffs. And even with Al Jefferson, they don't sniff 40 wins.

The one thing to remember is how much the East has improved. The balance of power has shifted and it is going to be a dogfight.

They become an actual team and share the scoring. Jamison can consistently score, so can Mo, so can West. With a coach that will actually institute an offensive game plan they can get everyone touches. Not to mention Hickson should improve as well. Jefferson is one of the better young bigs in the game. If they can add him to play center they absolutely have to do it.

I am not so sure that Delonte will be here. Chris Grant was talking cap space at his presser and listed the money available...including if they waive West. It didn't sound good in my opinion.

Sure the scoring gets spread around more now but none of these guys are going to be able to take over and lead the team outside of Jamison. They may not have anyone outside of Jamison score more than 18 PPG and the lack of Lebron will show much more than you think. Mo and West are not take over the game guys or leading scorers for a team. They are good complementary guys to a Lebron or or other star but are not anything more than an average player without him. The team as constructed right now will not make the playoffs with the large improvement of teams in the East. Landing Jefferson would help but the Pistons are also trying to make a deal for him but who knows at this point.

Depends on what they do the next couple of months. I would guess in the 30-35 range with the roster right now.

Haha. This isn't college basketball. They aren't Duke. You HAVE to have a go to guy. Jamison is not that. Look at last year's Wizards without Arenas.
