they are. I don't remember what they are graded since all this was done when I was maybe 13. My dad used to be huge into collecting cards. we are talking about thousands of cards, tons of mantle cards, a real mantle rookie card, all kinds of shit. he luckily sold off most of the stuff he had before the card market crashed, but kept what he wanted, no one really knows what he has now. When you go into his home office he has about 30 signed pictures on the bookshelves, mantle, mays, nolan ryan, both griffey's together, etc etc.

My dads grandpa met Babe Ruth in a St. Louis hotel restaurant. He went over to meet him, and Ruth saw he was a World War 1 veteran and invited him to have dinner with him. At the end of the meal, Ruth signed a baseball for him. I am now in possession of said baseball. EASILY my most cherished possession.

Did anyone ever go to card shows as a kid? We used to go like every saturday morning in the winter and early spring. I have all kinds of random signatures because of the "pro" that would be at the card show... kevin mack, pete rose junior, a bunch of other guys I can't remember, lol.

That's pretty cool, my dad has a Ruth signed baseball, but it says "To: sarah Babe Ruth"
LOL. Yours is definitely cooler, lol.

Yep, went to one in Lancaster every Saturday morning. My parents would give me a 50 dollar bill and about 5 of us neighborhood kids would load up in my best friends dads car and he would take us all up. This was a tradition of ours every weekend for about 5 years.

My step dad had a signed Babe Ruth ball. One summer my friends were playing in a near by lot and needed a ball so I went in to his office and took it to play with. I wasn't very good when I was young but I hit a home run on my first swing. Wouldn't have been a big deal but some herculean sized dog chewed and slobbered it all to hell. Man did I catch a beating for that.

Did they make a movie called "The Sandlot" based loosely on this story? My step dad had a signed Babe Ruth ball. autographed Anthony Munoz rookie card--he signed it "HOF 2000 #78",and then his name...he seemed like a really good guy-very accommodating.

still got them stashed away...1961 various mid-range stars, + Musial, 1965 complete, 1972 complete, 1975 complete, 1978 complete....probably 20 boxes.
the worst thing that ever happened to baseball card collecting was the reentry of Fleer, donruss, et al....complete oversaturation to the point of worthlessness.
However, they ain't makin' anymore 1972 Willie Horton or Gaylord Perry's, so I'll just hang on to those memories.
Met Fidrych at a card show, Boudreau and Feller also when I was a kid....
the best thing about baseball cards is how they connect you...father to son to grandson.
