Lebron didn't have the guts to call Gilbert to tell him he was leaving. Nor did he have the decency to answer any of his phone calls. What a prick.

Way to cite an article that is a day old, before Gilberts statement.

Just like Gilbert called Brown and Ferry before he fired them. It happens when it happens. Again, I'm not saying Lebron shouldn't have called Gilbert, but it is what it is.

I'm ignorant? Did you not hear sportscenter last night with the anchors laughing while reading the letter? Have you heard the sound bytes of Mark Jackson and Stuart Scott? Have you heard Colin Cowherd this morning? Tell me again who is ignorant.

Haha...who gives a fuck

Points out that people thought the whole process was bullshit even before the announcement was made, which I agree with

And I've cited 3 already, after Gilbert's statement. One of which mentions his statement without ripping it.

Geez dude give it up.

And have you not heard EVERYONE criticizing James for the way he handled it? Obviously not, so again, I'll say you're ignorant to that.

Not to mention ESPN is the biggest enabler of situations like these. Their analysts and company itself are the biggest front runners of them all. Which would be fine, if they weren't supposed to be a new outlet rather than a fan club.

The Cavs were relevant were one reason, they are now irrelevant. You can't put all your chips in one bag.

Not everyone has criticized him. Yes a large number of people have disagreed with the way he made the announcement, not with the actual decision. I don't agree with the way he didn't call Gilbert before the announcement was made, but I can't be mad at LeBron for the decision he made. Gilbert made himself look like a complete ass clown.

Not trying to get into your pissing match but the News Herald just wrote out his letter. Comments from people reading shouldn't count as "articles bashing" and well Bleacher Report. That is about as bad as fan comments on the end of an article. Anyone writes there...

Are you John Kincade? Pretty much the exact quote he just gave on the Herd.

You mean they had the brains not to say it. smh. He looks like an idiot in all this. What a petulant little baby. Gilbert needs some damage control. Where are the PR people at in all of this?

First of all, this link was just the letter, nothing else, you idiot hahahhaha.

http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2010/07/09/sports/nh2752702.txt

Secondly, not one of those articles is from a national media outlet, just local media outlets who frankly, I will never read again.

Now, if you find something from the New York Times, or the LA Times, then that would hold a lot more credibility.

Again, I need to re-iterate I don't justify most of Dan Gilbert's words I think he acted like a teenager that just got broken up with.

But I will say that some of what he said was justified, such as talking about how Lebron handcuffed the team and the disgrace with which he left.

Dude, never once have I mentioned anger at Lebron's actual decision, just in the way he handled it.

And not only to Cleveland, New York, Chicago, but to the entire NBA. In my worthless opinion, I think Lebron made a complete mockery out of free agency and the entire process.

Mike Brown might have been "classy" but he was a terrible head coach. He got his pants coached off him the past few years. His strategy of dribble dribble long jumpshot was an embarrassment. That's not Lebron's game... at all. They should have been pushing the ball and letting Lebron run the floor. He's unstoppable in the open court

I agree. But I also think that the way Gilbert reacted was worse.

He didn't really make a mockery out of it until the announcement last night. It was the national media, mostly ESPN, over doing it with their coverage. Prior to last night LeBron was out of the spot light and wasn't in the press with all kinds of shit. He handled the actual Free Agency part pretty well I thought. Just wish he would have made the final announcement in a better way.

Serious question. What would LeBron ever have to do for you to not stick up for him? Would you ever admit he did something wrong?
