He didnt exactly better himself with that move but the Knicks certainly are surrounding Amare with some serious talent with that trade.

Meanwhile, this is a great deal for the Knicks.

Randolph has really good potential. Azubuike has a very friendly contract and is very productive for what he costs. Turiaf is only a 2-year deal.

Stoudemire
Randolph
Chandler
Douglas
Gallinari
Azubuike
Rautins
Fields

Still a TON of cap room left and they will have Curry off the books this year and Turiaf in 2 years. Even without LeBron, I like the direction the Knicks are going.

Amazing how business gets done when you have a general manager that is proactive and not in over his head.

And you figure next off-season, if the Knicks can snag Carmelo, it will make up for almost everything they looked forward to this year.

I think you are mistaken. I remember reading several Cavs fans posts that Chris Grant is hitting the ground running and was on several teams short lists for GM and was the real brains behind the Cavs front office.

Not that the Warriors were a factor anyway, but this just makes the East even stronger going forward.

Clearly those teams whose short lists he was on lucked out he ended up in Cleveland because he has been completely impotent as a GM thus far.

It is inexcusable that when you are in a situation where your superstar is threatening to leave that you do nothing to convince him to stay. The rest of your conference is improving and you do absolutely nothing. It is ridiculous.

I don't see this being such a great deal for the Knicks at all. I would definitely rather have Lee personally.

The Knicks are looking to the way future though. Lee on the books for upwards of 14M a year isn't worth it considering what they COULD get. Also, they got good value for a guy they hadn't really seriously considered keeping in the first place, especially after Amare signed.
