Great news. Can we start to take up a collection for an extension?

I'm sure we could get a fund raiser here on the Huddle to help make a donation.

I'm not surprised. He shouldn't be let go. Not making excuses for their current situation, but two seasons is not enough to fully introduce his system.

Well, lets think about the situation. Bill Martin is retiring in September. It is not kosher for a lame duck AD to hire another coach. Ride this slime ball another season hope against hope that he will turn it around and if he doesn't then and only then will the new AD hire his guy.

The best coaches make the system fit the players, not the other way around. DickRod is a joke. His "system" might have worked at WVU, but it's not going to cut it in the Big Ten. For better or worse, It's a different style of football. He will be gone after next year.

Can we stop this "he needs time to get his players and install his system" BS! This is football, not nuclear physics or brain surgery. Michigan HAS good football players! Michigan HAS good athletes. Michigan has lost games the past two seasons, where they were the more talented team on the field. Yes, I admit there would be a transition period, a bit of a down trend while changing coaches/systems. But a down period at Michigan should be an 8 win season, and a second tier bowl appearance. NOT 8 wins in two years and, consecutive finishes at the bottom of the Big Ten.
You guys can defend this jackass all you want, but the longer they keep him, the deeper he will bury the once proud Michigan football program!

^ he has one recruiting class.... and no defense. He hasn't had a competent QB. I would give him more time.

I agree with the first part, disagree with the second.

I think RRod could have come in and used the talent he had to their abilities, while starting to implement his system.

However, whatever you put on the field, the other team has to defend. Just because other Big 10 teams don't run his offense, doesn't mean it can't work.

The soon to be retired AD won't fire the shitty head coach he worked hard to get in the first place. Hmm. UM's gonna be garbage next season (yay), and then the new AD's going to get someone worth a damn and Michigan will be competitive once more.

He didn't renew anything. He was just confirming that he wouldn't be fired.

He had Mallet, but obviously wasn't willing to conform to Mallet's abilities.

At what point do you stop blaming the coach and start putting responsibility on the players? I thought that he coached a pretty good game yesterday. He didnot MAKE Forcier throw those 4 Picks. He put us in a position to win, and the OFFENSE didnt execute.

I have been thinking this for a while, that he would be around for a 3rd year. That being said, I think UM has to win 8 games next year or it could be the end. And judging by the schedule, that seems a bit far fetched

The A.D. should not be allowed to retire in a year. He should be fired now for hiring such a bad coach like RR. This guy can not develop talent..........never has and never will.

What do you expect when he puts D-Rob in on first and second down to run the ball and then on theird down put Tate in. They know the pass is coming. It wasn't fair to Tate, OSU knew what was coming.

Also, with the rotating of the QB's, they couldn't get into a rythem.

Once again Tate-38 pass 6 rush, Denard-4 pass 10 rush. O$U-318 total yards, Michigan-309. Turnovers-O$U +4. What does it look like beat michigan rich rod's coaching or Tates poor decisions?
