and you had already committed to resigning with the Cavs..

It's an hour before your press conference to announce that you're coming back..

Your cell phone rings and it's Mikhail Prokhorov(or any owner)...

He tells you he will give you ANYTHING YOU WANT..will help you build a house...give you part ownership after you retire,anything...would you consider renigging on Cleveland and signing in NJ?

Just a thought that popped into my head

No. LeBron doesn't need help building a house and his future is shaping up nicely as it is.

If I had already committed to my decision after giving it thought... no.

However I wouldn't be going to either if I was him. I'd be going to Miami. Beautiful women, nice weather, no state income tax, more spots to party at, etc. Oh and a team with him and Dwayne Wade would be pretty good

I'm pretty sure the Nets owner already did that and came away with nothing.

Except ALL of that is against the rules, and would cost the Nets 3 or 4 first round draft pics. Ala the Timberwolves and Joe Smith.

You think Lebron would turn him in??

What I meant by help him build a house was help him find land and a guy to build it cheap

And an easy way to tarnish this so called "legacy" that he is looking to build by going to D-WADE'S TEAM and taking the EASY way out.

This isn't USC. It's the NBA. It won't/can't happen.

Yep. I don't live there, but I would rather live there than Cleveland, without thinking twice.

The ONLY way I'd consider it is if he promised to help me get a sweet Russian accent by the end of the 1st season. Anything else is pure poppycock.

The real pitch by the Nets is their move to Brooklyn. For those unfamiliar with the area, the new Nets arena is being built adjacent to Park Slope, a "hip" neighborhood in Brooklyn known for their hipster nightlife and swanky restaurants. The population of Brooklyn ALONE is 2.5 million, and with the Knicks continuing to alienate their fanbase, there is a real opportunity for this team to be THE team in the NYC Metropolitan area. Even my Knicks-fans friends recognize the threat the Nets are imposing on them.

I wholeheartedly agree. And possibly hook me up with a new mail-order bride from Russia for each day of the week.

C'mon please. What legacy? He doesn't have one yet. As of now he is just a really good player who can't get it done in the postseason. Sign with the Heat for a couple years get some rings and then look somewhere else to be the man. Kobe won a few championships with Shaq and his "legacy" seems to be fine.

People think Michael Jordan won with a bunch of Titos. He had Scottie Pippen who was one of the best 50 NBA players of ALL-TIME.

Yep, and Kobe & Jordan didn't sell out or take the easy way out. They stayed at HOME.

"Home" for them happened to be in nice sized markets. Where else would they have gone?

With that being said I don't think Lebron is going anywhere. However, to think that Cleveland is anything close to the "best" situation out there is laughable. For me the only reason he would stay is loyalty to his friends, family, and the area.

actually Kobe did take the easy way out in a way. He originally was drafted by the Hornets, but his agent stated that playing in Charlotte would have been an "impossibility" and he was eventually traded to the Lakers where he felt more comfortable playing

Yeah, but Kobe was a rookie. He hadn't established himself in Charlotte for 7 years and then left.

I get what you're saying about there being better situations (nightlife, no state taxes, etc) but I just don't think he leaves Cleveland on a sour note.

I'm still looking for a legitimate explanation for this. What is the legacy that Lebron is trying to create and I don't mean what legacy is it that Cleveland fans want him to leave?

I mean, guys like Clyde Drexler, Nate Archibald, Oscar Robertson, Moses Malone, and Shaquille O'Neal all left somewhere before winning titles. They were all on the Top 50 of All Time list and either in the HOF or sure to be. Heck, does anyone even remember that Kareem won a title in Milwaukee before all those in L.A.? What would his "legacy" be had he finished with that one title in Milwaukee and stayed there his whole career?

Do Karl Malone and Elgin Baylor get historical bonus points for never winning a title but staying with the same team?

Help me understand whose legacy Lebron is playing for - yours or his?

I'm pretty sure he's not playing for my legacy, because there'd be a LOT of stories involving hookers and blow if he was.
