Anyone have any good ones to recommend? My wife and I are planning a trip for December and are trying to decide on a resort.

Playa Mujeres

Anyone been to this one? My wife is really pushing for it but it is the most expensive of the ones we have looked at.

I hear Montana is nice in the summer. Maybe you should go there instead.

Every travel agent I talked to said this same thing...which is why my fiancee and I are heading to Riviera Maya for the honeymoon in a few weeks!

When did they reverse the Ginger Marriage Ban?

We stayed at the Royal Solairs. It was a nice, beach front hotel. The lake (or whatever they call it) was right behind us. Had 3 restaurants (one was not inclusive), several bars (inside and out) and a large swimming pool (with a swim up bar). Also had a ton of activities...don't remember them all...just the putt putt golf course on the campus and the spa.

The ban just says gingers can't marry other gingers. It's their way to try to control the population and keep the numbers down.

I will be going to one of their other resorts, Excellence Riviera Cancun, the first week of August.
It is actually in Puerto Morelos, which is about 20 minutes south of Cancun.

From what I understand Playa Mujeres is newer and more modern, but doesn't quite give you the feeling that you are actually in Mexico.

I'm assuming you have checked out Trip Advisor, but if not both resorts get top notch ratings as 2 of the more popular resorts in Mexico. The Excellence resorts are known for their outstanding service.

my wife and i just got back from cancun last week. We stayed at Barcello Tukancun Beach resort in Cancun. It was awesome. The food was GREAT, drinks were free, beach at the hotel is awesome! Pools are very nice and the staff was very helpful. Only a short bus ride from anything around too.

No it doesn't. A ginger's ass doesn't see the light of day...ever.

This is way off topic. Justin: I think you should consider my Montana idea.

Not sure if you guys are more beach people or pool people, but make sure you know that it is almost impossible to get into the water from the beach in front of the resort.
