I still can't believe our government actually bailed out a private company. I could begrudgingly see the need to bail out the banks, but GM should be toast right now. Simply incredible.

"Of course, there's no chance that the Obama administration will sell off its GM stake before Election Day. That would force Obama to recognize actual losses, which would remind voters that the bailout was a massive transfer from taxpayers to "

Don't forget the investors. It was a massive transfer of investor capital (largely big pensions and mutual funds with the retirement funds of those taxpayers) to the unions, as well.

Another pathetic jobs report. This is what you get when a capitalist economy is being governned and administered by socialists/marxists.

The only solution is to elect Mr. Romney in November, as obama continues to prove he is The Master at keeping people unemployed. What a national travesty.

I heard someone say today that black people who are against the president are jealous of him. So basically if you are white and against the president's policies or job performance you are automatically racist and black people are jealous of him. Crazy.

Sad that more people got disability benefits in June than found a job. Nanny state indeed.

Along the lines of "the private sector is doing fine", here's another good one from the Prez:

Among those having trouble finding full-time work is Dave Marshall of Tampa, Florida. The 23-year-old Army reservist, who works part time for two security firms in the area, said he has been unable to find a job that utilizes his degree in sociology from the University of Florida in Gainesville. "

Wow, that's truly shocking.

On this day in 2008 workforce was 144,735,372
On this day in 2012 workforce is 142,243,042

On this day in 2008 Food Stamp recipients = 30,941,965
On this day in 2012 Food Stamp recipients = 46,287,203

On this day in 2008 unemployment was 9,437,568
On this day in 2012 unemployment is 12,764,881

On this day in 2008 actual unemployment was 13,491,828
On this day in 2012 actual unemployment is 22,870,197

On this day in 2008 the national debt was 9.84 trillion
On this day in 2012 the national debt is 15.83 trillion.

On this day in 2008 the Us population was 304,370,309
On this day in 2012 the US population is 313,901,131

The population has grown by 9.5 million and the workforce has declined by 2.5 million in 4 years, yet Obama claimed today in Poland, Ohio that he has created over 4 million jobs in past 28 months.

obama recently said “the private sector is doing fine”. He obviously does not understand the private sector, because in the private sector, with a track record like the one above, he would have been fired 2 years ago.

The private sector has outsourced about 5 million jobs. And this is Obama's doing? Might want to check out Obama's legislation that provides tax incentives for the private sector in bringing the jobs back here. Gee, why didn't your bud George think of that?

In the unlikely event Mitt wins the Presidency all of those "misery index" statistics will fade to nearly zero.

Of course, Mitt and his handlers will simply eliminate all social programs, reduce taxes to nearly zero for corporations, cut the top 1%'s tax rate eliminate many government agencies and put an end to Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid. There will be no need to keep labor statistics, because the labor force will all be overseas.

The only available jobs will be in the military. Given Mitt's hard-line rhetoric toward Iran and China, there should be a lot of turnover in those military jobs. With casualty rates at an all-time high, we will need a steady supply of warm bodies to keep the wars going.

Please explain how cutting corporate tax rates to nearly zero will send more labor overseas.

Even still if public sector jobs had grown at the rate they did for Reagan or Bush 43 after their recessions we'd have an unemployment rate approaching the level Obama's team projected in the stimulus. They failed to take into account that public sector jobs are only allowed to exist when republican presidents need them to pad their unemployment stats. Sad. It is a simple fix but the hate of Obama prevails.

Please tell me what Ireland's corporate tax rate is. How's that working out? The effective rate dormant u.s. business associations is very low. Apple pays a lower tax rate than you do and its relatively easy to do.
