My buddy is hosting a 50-person tailgate party at Citi Field on July 5. Yes, I know it's far from most of you, but if any of you guys (and ladies of course) are in the mood for a road trip, let me know. We will be grilling out, drinking jungle juice (Everclear and punch) and playing poker and whiffle ball for 4-5 hours before the game, plus its Fireworks Night after the game. Websurfinbird and I are the only "Chatters" who will be there I believe, and most of us have off that day anyway ... we are sold out of tickets, so if you are feeling adventurous and want to make the trip, its up to you to score tickets.

Sounds like an awesome time. If we didn't already have plans for the 4th weekend I'd have to talk the wife in to the trip.

Nice! Albany is a hike, but it's a helluva lot closer than Ohio haha. Good stuff.

Here's a pic from our tailgate in 2005 or 2006, can't remember (not the best pic). Good mix people in their 20s, 30s, even some parents come to get loaded haha (this tailgate was only like 35 people or so, smaller than this year's edition):

PS, your's truly is in the gray t-shirt and blue Mets cap, front row to the left next to "larger" mom haha

No one came to join me in South Africa for the US round of 16 World Cup game, so why would I come there?

No worries man, if you change your mind the offer still stands!

Darby, I have to agree with you on that one. Shea was a complete DUMP, but it was our DUMP :) That being said, Citi Field > Yankee Stadium, and the whole city knows it.

Come on boys and girls, Queens is a short 8 or 9 hour drive from Ohio, no problem! hahaha

Headed to the tailgate shortly, hope to take some good pics. Should be a fun series!

Well played my friend haha. I am still hanging my hat on the Mets' win over the Reds in the '99 1-game playoff ... Al Leiter was the GOAT!

You just get the fuck out if here for bringing that up! Worst game ever. You can't get shut out at home with the playoffs on the line. SMH.

How dare you. I just found my ticket to that game 2 or 3 days ago while organizing my house, and now I have to read about it again. Ridiculous.

You were there? Ouch. I think I might need to give BAB a one day ban for his transgression. :)

haha, well your Reds took care of business last night with yours truly in attendance -- can we call it even? :P

PS, that call on Rolen was weak! It may have been correct, but how does the home plate umpire defer to the 2nd base ump 200 feet away?? Either way, that Everclear Lemonade was goooodddddd....
