His recent album tanked, and he bitched about it on twitter. He was irrelevant with all these new male pop stars taking his place (Trey Songz, Jason Derulo, Jay Sean, hell even Drake). That kid was BEGGING to be back in the spotlight...those, IMO, were redemption tears.
...with that said, it's still hard to get past the fact that he beat up his GF....I hope he manages to turn his career around.
That's a nice thought, but those were tears over Michael's death and nothing more. If Michael was just a role model that's a bit much, but if he knew Michael personally then I can understand it.
I had a friend who mentioned this morning that it seems odd that everyone seems to have forgiven T.I., yet still hate on Chris Brown and Kanye. T.I. went to prison for having an arsenal of guns, and he gets a pass, whereas Chris Brown beat his girlfriend once and Kanye got a little too drunk and made a fool of himself and nobody seems to forgive them.
All that being said, I thought it was a nice tribute. The
Smooth Criminal section was pretty cool. Chris Brown isn't close to being the dancer that Michael was. Dancing for Michael was like breathing for the rest of us, it was just so natural for him. His movements we so smooth and precise. I don't think we'll ever see someone as naturally talented or as creative as Michael was as a dancer.
