The official thread found......just so we don't have to listen to the crap.

NCF wrote>>>
"Please again tell me how this team won't be that bad.

Yeah I know you all said they were going to stink.

I am sure you all want to believe that. "

18 posters said the Tribe would be sub .500.....16 of those predicted less than 74 wins...many in the 60's.
5 posters predicted the team would be .500 or better....2 of those predictions were less than 2 games over.

So there were some who said they would be good just as I said.

Thanks for taking time to show this.

I gave them way too much credit at 71-91.

I think I predicted 2 wins on the year...so I consider this season a success.

Classic NCF. "A couple of total homers had high hopes, so I'll use that as validation for my 'as so many thought but were wrong'-style posts...even if the vast majority probably thought the team would suck this year." You really need to raise your game...you're getting too minor league for this place.

Your welcome...anytime I can expose you and make you look like an asshole when you start acting like a troll makes me happy. Should you wish to comment about predictions, please direct them specifically to the poster whose prediction you question. Better yet, just don't act like a jerk and respect your fellow Chatters 'opinions'.

I had them at 60 wins, which is about a game more than they are on pace for. I should have known they wouldn't get to 60.

Manny Acta was clearly the wrong hire.

In the 139 games since he was fired, Washington is 64-75. While hardly great, it looks like the 27 Yankees compared to the 158-252 record he had compiled there.

The got better immediately after he left in the second half last year, and have continued to improve this year.

Manny had a 100 loss season in 2008, was on pace to last year before he was fired, and is on pace again this season.

I am not saying he has much to work with, but he has shown me nothing that says it will ever get better with him at the helm. Daddy Smallbucks Dolan needs to shit can him now and eat the salary to at least put a manager in place who could develop talent to at least give hope for the future. Manny is just in over his head right now.

Hiring Manny Acta was just telling the fans to forget about it for a while.

How can Manny Acta be the best choice for anyone?

hitsrus....good job using facts and finding evidence....this Reds fan enoys what you just did

I was definitely wrong with the 173-0 prediction. I really thought we could do it this year..

I didn't think Acta was that bad of a hire, we just don't have the talent to compete, not yet.

I was ok with the hire considering that the team was going to be rebuilding. He said all the right things. 70 games in, what he said when he was hired and what is happening on the field are 2 different things. I don't know whether it is poor coaching or whether it is lack of talent or whether the 'talent' just isn't developed enough. In any case, I'm not impressed. I think the second half of the year will tell us if the team has turned the corner. Right now, it looks at a low point.

I've watched zero baseball this year (like last year and the year before that) but just reading the paper and watching the news, it sure feels like the 1970s to me (except, of course, back then I was young, stupid and believed in miracles.)

I don't understand why people choose to follow a sports team when the ownership purposefully does nothing to improve the team.

If you love baseball that much, follow the amateurs (college) or even the minor leagues to see kids develop their individual games.

But a system that purposefully excludes about two thirds of the teams from realistically competing for a league title doesn't deserve your time, in my view.

Dang, after seeing my projected win total for them (61) I may have to revise it and go lower. That total would be pretty good........

If they were a pro GOLFER.

I had them at 82-80. So I am one of the "many" who had them with a winning record.

And to think anyone thought Acta was a good hire shows how little they thought they knew.

I was more of a "I don't give a shit who they hire, because they are going to suck" type of guy. If they had Joe Torre as their manager....they would be shitty. Sparky Anderson once said that a "good manager" wins 3 games for his team in a year. 3 wins doesn't do shit for this craptastic organization.

I agree with this statement and I didn't make a prediction because I knew they would suck. I just didn't want to say it.

On another note: Two members of the 50 and Over Club calling each other "asshole" and "asswipe"......priceless!
