Good luck, Orrville! Hopefully we can meet again this season, but we'll need to win some games, first. Here's to hoping we can help you out in your playoff quest. Haha!

Well well... we are already into week 3 of the football season!

I can't say enough about how proud I am to be a Red Rider fan right now! There were some questions coming in with our QB play and how we may respond with injuries due to the lack of depth...but this team has stepped up and now we have an opportunity to head into league play 3-0 with a win at Copley Friday night. I am not sure that many Rider fans felt we would be in this situation with the loss of a great senior class from a year ago...but we are!

Keep working your tails off and good things will happen.

This is Red Rider Football. Tradition that many high school programs only dream about.

That statement couldn't be more true! I am so glad I got to be a part of this great football program.

The JV's won a thriller today over Wooster. After quickly falling behind 12-0, they fought back to claim a 27-26 victory!

Defense kept us in that game until offense got uncorked last night. Hat's off to Coach Haley and crew. Lex forced us to throw by loading up the box....I still think the run game was there you just have to commit to it. Hope our young QB keeps learning at a fast rate. I hat to put the onus on him but he is the missing piece offensively. He continues to improve and is doing a great job for a young guy. Keep it up. we played two very fast and athletic defenses the past two weeks and that should have helped him learn a lot. We got banged up a bit....but seems nothing too serious. One head banger that may have a guy sidelined for hopefully just one game. Mansfield Senior has git it going and we will need to play well and take BETTER care of the football from here on out. Congrats Riders and thanks to a nice crowd for making the trip! We're home now for a couple weeks!

Let's go Riders! Back home tomorrow for only the second time this year. Make it count against a Tyger team loaded with computer points. Get on 'em early and often, limit our mistakes and continue on the road to becoming a pretty good football team. so Red Rider1....If we can get a victory Friday...where do you see us in the Region?

Just found out that a Orrville player just moved into Smithville. Think he is a Soph. You Orrvillers have any scoop on this, and what kind of kid he is?

Haven't heard a thing about that. Are you saying someone on the team currently? just moved? Don't know any soph that would fall into the category of a "player"?

5knots,

Can't say for sure that he was currently on your team. Just moved in from what l understand. Also a wrestler probably 145 or so. Maybe not a Soph? Fullback and linebacker is what l was told.

Yea we had a kid transfer to Smithville this week and yes he was a Soph...

Apparently his Father wasn't to pleased that the coaching staff was playing his Son on Freshmen games and not giving him any time on JV or varsity.! Yea I know it's a lame reason but that is the case.Shame because the kid really had some potential as both football player and wrestler but needed more work put in before that could happen.

He was a transfer to begin with, so the family really wasn't a True Red Rider anyway but still it's unfortunate that he had to leave.

Sounds to me we are fortunate he did leave if those are the reason. Good luck in "greener" pastures to the family. We'll move on. You don't "get" time on the field in Orrville...you earn it Monday thru Friday and December thru August. I wish the young fella well.

It happens every single year! I don't know why nothing is ever done about it. I never took electronics to away games you're just asking for something to happen.

That picture of the Red Rider seniors "hunting for a championship" fits us well. The next time we play at Senior we will need all of them to come prepared as they are in the picture to fend off the onslaught of thievs in Mansfield!

...an Old Rider once said during a deer hunting trip "Shoot em all! Then ask questions"!

Nebraska Cornhuskers in the "ville" today to watch a little practice. Pretty exciting time for Red Rider football. If I am a kid or parent at another program who thinks they have a shot playing at the next level...I would think very seriously about Orrville High School. Great program, Great facilities, Great fans, and even Greater coaching staff. Go Riders!

My freshman year at Malone there was a different NFL scout at every practice, it was really neat experience meeting them and I am sure it is the same way with the college scouts of big time programs coming to watch you practice.
