Jensen Lewis has been optioned to Class AAA Columbus

Aaron Laffey is back up with the Tribe

Jayson Nix has been claimed off waivers from the White Sox and added to the Indians’ major league roster. Nix, 27, hit .163 with one home run and five RBIs in 49 at-bats with the White Sox, who designated him for assignment on June 17.

I thought I heard Valbuena has ben sent down to AAA as well. Only 6 weeks late!!!

Valbuena, Was sent down I for got to include that.


Huff pitched well for Columbus today.

I don't think anyone deserves a free pass, including Acta. If a guy can't hit the mendoza line, he should be a defensive stalwart. NOT on this team. You can suck at BOTH!

Can't hit. Can't field. Can't pitch. No improvement....can't coach.

seriously, they need to just pick a fan from the crowd to play as the 9th man on the team each game. that would be better than Valbuena or this Nix guy now.

Maybe they just signed Nix, so he and Laynce could have a family reunion over the weekend. From his numbers, that's the only reason I could imagine signing him to a major league contract.

I agree that you can't make gold out of nickel....but you can polish the nicklel. I don't see any poilishing going on. The team looks worse that when they started.

Exactly and it is getting worse by the day. I can't stand to watch. Acta is a terrible coach I don't care what anyone sais and for the Ownership to pick him means they could care less if they win. I am an indian fan for life but until this owner sells the team there is no hope.

Caught game 1 of Cabrera's rehab assignment at Class A Mahoning Valley tonight. He went 1-3 at the plate(wearing a forearm protector)......1st AB flew out to the warning track in right center, 2nd AB grounded out weakly to the SS, 3rd AB ripped a nice one hopper to the RF corner with bases loaded...2 RBI's. Had a few very routine assists in the field (played SS) including a nice 6-4-3DP. Took no chances on a couple grounders up the middle.

Plays again Tuesday night for the Scrappers.
