You win whatever prize it is for winning that period and then get reset to 500 with everyone else.

Suggestion:
Can whoever creates the betting thread put a sticky on it so it stays at the top until betting is closed? Then when the event starts or betting is closed it moves down to the normal area fro threads.

The easiest way to see just open bets is to go through the vBookie link in the site navigation bar. You can then click through to the thread on there. I don't want to commit the guys to keeping track of when betting is over or the event starts to have to go in and unstick threads.

I have been closing the threads I start sometime after the event ends and I get around to it (so that they filter to the bottom over time), if that's alright.

Before I was named a vBookie, I took advantage of horrendous odds where all you had to do was put money on both choices and you were guaranteed to win.
Also, I hit an 8/1 bet (I bet 1,000) tonight on a baseball game (set by someone else, I do not bet on my own games)
I'm actually in 4th place, 2 now have over 60,000 (and ZombieKiller put 60,000 on Joey Chestnut for tomorrow, most likely sending him to 80,000)

That date was changed to July 31th.
