Ray Shero didn't fuck around, he knew his team's weakness and took care if it right away. I'm very pleased with these signing, definite upgrade to the defense. They got a very good finese player/skater in Martin and shut down guy in Michalek.

All the Pens need now is a cheap vet like Kariya.

Pens get Ryan Craig from the Lightning. Not a big deal and will spend time in Wilkes-Barre. They don't have enough cap space left to get a major winger, so it looks like this is your 2010-11 Pens. I like the 2 defensemen. If Malkin comes back from his "off" year, then the Pens should be a better team next year.

There's been rumors about Malkin moving to the wing with Staal at center. Sounds like a good idea but I would hate to break up that third line of Staal, Cooke and Kennedy........arguably the best third line in hockey.

I like having that third line too but if it will generate more scoring, put Malkin and Staal together. I do think the defense has been upgraded with the new guys, hopefully that will take some pressure off of MAF.

I would trade dupuis to try and get some cap space, and if not this is what the line up will look like.
