There's a new cart girl at Tam O Shanter from Russia that is pretty cute... doesn't speak much english, and all she'd tell me is she made a mistake earlier in life and is working thru it right now.

I think someone brought her over here as a mail order bride and she split on him.

My friend in DC has a friend who got a russian mail order bride. She got over here, dumped him for some pilot from Dallas, and he never saw her again.

You wonder with so many stories like that why anyone goes that route. Of course, I suppose if you put pencil to paper it's probably cheaper than hookers! But I wonder how many of these dudes don't even get to boink her but a few times, if that.

There was a guy who rented an apartment from my dad for years who ordered a bride from Russia. He spent his life savings on getting her a visa and a plane ticket and all that, he even sent her all the cash he had for traveling money. She never showed up and also was able to hack his bank account and completely drain him. He was the nicest guy, very strange, very lonely, but extremely nice. I remember my dad gave him a free months rent and the office manager gave him some extra canned food she had so he could eat for the month.

That is just about the saddest story ever. I'm not going to judge someone for being lonely, but man take some steps to protect yourself!
