"Oh"

Yep not in love with cops just call it as I see it. I just tend to hold judgement after seeing some of the crap my father had to put up while stopping, talking to, arresting people etc....

Anyone notice the article said the husband is an emergency medical technician? He obviously knows what he is doing medical wise and knew the his wife had to be rushed to the hospital. This makes it even more stupid. He called the hospital and told them he was coming. About the only thing I think the guy might have done better is call 911 and let them know also what was going on, but that would have taken even more time or if in the car been even more unsafe talking while driving.

^you make a great point about calling 911 while on the way but that is easier said than done probably didn't cross his mind after talking to the hospital.

For the most part I defend cops and the job they have to do, but this guy should be terminated immediately...and no one should rehire him.

^this. I believe that the good cops that do their job well deserve the utmost respect but people like this have no place in any sort of public safety career.

And it's a good thing the charges were dropped. The shitstorm of lawsuits against this officer and the police department had the charges stood, would have been insane.
