Great choice for a dog. I got mine when he was 8 weeks old he is now 3 years old and he is a great dog. I don't use him for hunting because he is a couch potato. He was also very easy to train.

We've had 4 beagles and they are awesome pets! All 4 would have been useless for hunting, but they are wonderful family pets.

I miss my beagle since I can't have him until I get a permanent station. He's lazy too and rather sleep all day then play. But he's perfectly trained beagle.

My Father and I have raised hunting Beagles since I was a child. We have 2 right now (Mandy and Singer, a mother daughter tandem) who are excellent hunting dogs, and also very friendly and loyal pets. Dad keeps them at his house out back, and for being outside dogs, they may be the most spoiled dogs I have ever seen in my life. In the pecking order of my immediate family it goes 1. The Dogs, 2. My Mom, and in a distant 3rd ME!

I have 5 Beagles, Lexi , is my baby she is 13 years old and still hunts a rabbit like shes 3.
