grant: "We had a good meeting with lebron & his group. Went well. We had a good time. It was fun. It was very interactive."

Grant: "Obviously we know LeBron well. I would characterize it as positive."

Chris Grant: "We will continue to upgrade the Roster, this is the time to do it!"

Bull walked over and stood on street trying to get in locked door, calling LeBron trying to get in.

Jerry Reinsdorf was a little peeved he had to wait while Gar Forman was on his phone trying to get in.

Tom Thibodeau, Gar Forman, John Paxson & Jerry Reinsdorf in party. Didn't have presentation luggage with them.

Like #Cavs, Bulls going semi casual, no ties but jackets. Pat Riley wouldn't stand for that even on a Saturday. Then again, LBJ in shorts.

Here's a prediction for what Bulls with think when they finish with LeBron: "It was a good meeting."

Sources say #Cavs showed LeBron a custom cartoon they created with James & his friends as characters that referenced many inside jokes.

Was done in Family Guy style, which is one of James' favorite shows. Also Byron Scott gave a presentation about playing style.

Honestly, at this point I'd be fine with not getting Bosh, as long as LBJ signs here. Trade for Monta, keep JJ and Andy, sign a big to the MLE.

Trade Delonte and AP for a 2 guard.

Call it a day :)

Unless we can sign/trade Shaq.

If Lebron is going to stay in Cleveland the sooner he gets it done the better. Once he signs, the floodgates will open and everyone will be trying to get with the Cavaliers.

If Bosh is insisting that he get a full max contract via a sign-and-trade, it might be that he’s holding up the whole process, especially as Toronto president Bryan Colangelo is taking a tough stance in trade discussions, demanding either a star player or cap space (via a trade exception) and draft picks.
This was just put up in ESPN Chad Ford's column.

If one of these teams would offer a $16 million dollar trade exception for Bosh and take back no other salary, the deal would be done in 2 seconds, but then it screws up their caps to sign more than 1 max free agent.

Bosh's desperation for the 6th year though has given the Raptors alot more leverage than they had before because I am willing to bet that he will almost agree to be traded anywhere if it means he gets the 6 years and $119 million based on the bevy of reports that say the contract is more important to him than anything right now.

We need some resolution on all of this soon. I wish one of them would make their minds up so that the other dominoes can start falling.

No sign-and-trade would cost Bosh millions, limit options. But 1 exec said it wasn't dead, Raps just turned off at moment by Bosh behavior. less than 20 seconds ago via web

The Secret Value of Byron Scott
--Marc Stein, ESPN 4:03 pm

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...of-byron-scott

One of the rarely mentioned positives about the Cleveland Cavaliers’ hiring of Byron Scott is the fondness Chris Paul still holds for his former coach.

The significance?

The Cavs now have two people Paul would love to work with if he ever leaves New Orleans … provided, of course, that Cleveland can convince LeBron James to stay in free agency.

Sources close to the situation have maintained for months that any team employing Scott automatically becomes a potential down-the-road destination for Paul because of their close player-coach relationship. So it’s not much of a stretch from there, given the open secret that LeBron and his close buddy CP3 want to play together someday, to imagine Paul angling to land with the Cavs if James stays to play for Scott.

The bond between Paul and Scott certainly isn’t enough to clinch LeBron’s return to Cleveland. Especially when A) Cleveland presently lacks the trade assets to go after Paul, and B) sources with knowledge of New Orleans’ thinking say that the Hornets remain intent on knocking back any trade inquiry they get for their All-Star point guard, as Portland and New Jersey found out during draft week.

But as James weighs all the variables factoring into his decision to stay with his hometown team or sign elsewhere, Scott’s appeal as a coach spikes further if you can legitimately say that his presence could potentially lure Paul to Cleveland.

We already know that Scott’s pedigree as a former player is something that appeals to James, given LeBron's well-chronicled dismay with the lack of NBA playing experience on the staff of former coach Mike Brown. Yet you’d have to say that the Scott/Paul dynamic, at the very least, is one more plus point on James’ pro-Cavs list.

How soon any of this might be able to tangibly help Cleveland, mind you, is up for debate.

Hornets president Hugh Weber, at a team event Saturday morning with Paul present, insisted to the assembled media that Paul starting next season in New Orleans is a 100 percent certainty.

"No question, yes," Weber said.

Elaborating on the increasingly rampant trade speculation surrounding Paul since his recent interview with ESPN The Magazine’s Chris Broussard -- in which Paul acknowledged for the first time that he would want to be traded if the Hornets aren’t serious about spending what it takes to contend -- Weber added Saturday: “It’s more of a distraction for him, he’s the one who has to answer the questions. We’re getting our business done and we know what we need to do and Chris knows and has been collaborating with us on all the moves and changes we’ve had. “

On Friday, Paul told local reporters that his preference remains staying New Orleans -- a city he is known to genuinely love -- and that his recent comments to Broussard were intended to “make sure we’re committed to winning.”

Yeah, Raps can't be too happy with being the ones trying to piece together a squad with scraps. Losing your top guy the way they are (his publicity) gotta sting, so anything coming out of there has to be taken with a grain of salt imo.

The posters on RCF's are comparing Bosh to a 12 year old girl in the way he's handling this.

To be honest, the only reason I'd want Bosh is if it were a bargaining tool to get LBJ to stay. He's an offensive weapon but a big time defensive liability. Byron Scott is also going to be a defensive minded coach. They may not have the "flashy" name like Bosh but I think there are probably better fits for Scott's system out there.

NY Knicks PPT was leaked!

http://blacksportsonline.com/home/index.php/2010/07/the-new-york-knicks-powerpoint-presentation-to-lebron-james-leaked/

]

LOL @ NY...
The fact this was able to leak to Forbes should be a red flag to Lebron. It is one thing to get reports of what teams are pitching to Lebron, it is a totally other thing to have an entire powerpoint presenation out on the web. If the Knicks purposefully allowed it to leak even more reasons for Lebron to give a raised eyebrow.

With that being said lets breakdown some of the things the Knicks pitched to Lebron:

1- It is much more about the “Lebron Brand” than actually winning basketball games.

2- Player Image and Marketing comes before “Player Performance”.

3- Basically states if Lebron goes to the Heat he won’t make any money.

4- Speaks to value of the Knicks franchise, no mention how bad a team they are.

5- Points out that if Lebron goes to Chicago he would have to be better than Jordan.
