Never had the stent or the sound waves thing to break it up, just pass them the old fashioned way.
Pretty much my experience now too. After the first couple, you can tell when one is coming about an hour ahead of time, and just deal with it. I missed a test in college due to taking pain meds for a particularly painful stone, and being unable to drive. The prof didn't believe I passed one at home, and demanded a hospital note, which of course I didn't have. Next day I had the stone in a glass vial ready to give to her, but before I could she finally relented and let me make the test up

I had one back in 2003, about the size of a pea, yes, a vegetable green pea.
Fortunately for me, zero pain, the doctor said it must have formed in the bladder, because if that had formed in the kidney like they usually do I would have been in the hospital on morphine for the pain.
I might be the only guy in history to pass a kidney stone and the only thing I felt was "wow, it feels like a small pebble tumbling out my penis", but zero pain.

I had one about 2 months ago. It was my second kidney stone, once you have had one you never mistake the pain again. Once thing that I found online that seemed to work or maybe it was just coincidence but mix 2 oz of olive oil and 2 oz of lemon juice, drink it straight down and follow with a large glass of water at the first sign of stone pain.. I did this twice and passed the stone within a couple of hours.
