I agree... Looks very challenging. I'm almost 100% sure you won't lose week 5 though lol

Has Mooney ever played Massillon or St. Ignatius before?

Tough schedule.
I would not be shocked to see them playing in the state final game again.

Mooney is 2-0 against St. Ignatius and no they have never played Massillon. Go to their website and it will give you their records against opponents.

There is going to be the Rally in Death Valley in Steubenville week 5. Too bad the promoter didn't find a good out-of-state opponent for Mooney. In addition to the Big Red-Morgantown (WV) game, Iggy is going to play Don Bosco, so this will be a prestigious event.

Wins over Iggy prior to 1984 should probably come with an asterisk, or more appropriately, not even mentioned.

us true football fans would love to see this FWK... however, I just can't see Coach Reno inviting the team that knocked them out of the playoffs the previous year.... a little to much pride would have to be swallowed.... ofc that jmo

No, you're wrong. Big Red made it a point to schedule Inkster MI this year even though they snapped our seven-year regular season winning streak last year. Reno doesn't avoid teams that beat us, he wants to get back at them.
Under any circumstance, Reno doesn't have anything to do with this. The school is not sponsoring the event. There is a promoter who makes the decisions.

There lwas some talk about Mooney playing Don Bosco week 5. I guess because of the virtual NC.

Ohhh I see.....so if anybody beat my alma mater between 1995 and basically 2008, excluding a great year in 1999....then guess what....those wins don't really matter because we well.....sucked I guess. So there it is...official. If you beat Campbell Memorial in the years given above....can't count it. What kind of stupid comment is that? Never mind...I can see where this conversation is going.

Feel free to count it. Just don't brag on it like you beat a legit state power or anything.

So what does Mooney have to replace Heard, Vinopal, Zordich etc... Heard they have some good young backs. Whats their starting backfield going to look like?

I have no clue who is exactly starting. I would think Courtney Love will get his hands on the ball in one way or another this year, along with maybe Leoneli (sp.)? I believe Charlie Brown is back as well...or am I mistaken? There is the other sophomore also...McWilliams is it?

Point well taken...
Counterpoint... the Inkster game could have went either way play it 10 times 5-5 is easy to see.... the Mooney game... well wasn't even a contest... play it 10 times and i'll give Big Red 2 wins due to the talent they do have and the coaching staff being top notch... not to mention its highly likely that the two teams could meet again in the playoffs this year... a IMO "probable" loss to the same team twice in the same year... just don't see that happening.... you will never see me say Coach Reno dodges anyone... year in and year out Big Red plays one of the best schedules in the state... not only SoS wise but to get them ready for the playoffs.... well ran program
FWK dont take me wrong... i'm a huge fan of Big Red... as well as Mooney... I love to see teams with pride and tradition do well and succeed... gives the "up and coming" schools something to set thier sights on...
