Good post.

Don't understand that either. Just proves people have terrible taste in music.

Her music is not that bad. If she did not go over the top with her antics I don't think she would be as big as she is now. She actually looks pretty decent before she became Gaga, but just another decent female pop voice. I give her credit she knew to break out she had to do something different and she has.

Liking music is subjective, not objective. I hate a lot of music, but don't question why other people like it because its a matter of preference. Quit being a troll....you're not even good at it.

You're not serious are you? She pumps out hit after hit and her tracks are played nonstop in clubs worldwide. Also the radio plays her stuff to DEATH.

Maybe to some extent it is subjective, but there certainly are objective (even if unclearly defined) standards. Otherwise you're stuck with things like saying there's no objective basis to differentiate between the quality of music of, say, The Beatles versus my junior high garage band, and that's purely subjective preference.

People who rip on GaGa are dopes. GaGa is this generation's Madona. Get over it. She's got talent and plays it off in a unique way.

Except that no one has said they don't like her music. What HAS been said is that people who like her music have terrible taste in music, which is entirely different. Its one thing to give an opinion, another entirely to question other people's taste in music.

getting back to the article...what was the point of booing? she didnt do anything other fans do. i was at citi field this past weekend and a family of four showed up in the second inning and left in the 6th. i was in baltimore when they played the red sox, the game went into extra innings during a day game and people left.

She looked fairly attractive in those videos from college. The pic in this thread she looks like she needs to lay off the coke/heroin a bit.

Apparently she caused quite a scene at her sister's HS graduation. Came in a huge limo and (according to Greeney on Mike & Mike) was dressed over-the-top ridiculous even by her standards. Any bets on whether her inevitable sex video will top the clown porn? My prediction: Two words - muppet train.

The comparison to Madonna is really not that off-the-mark Both women have an innate understanding of how to market themselves. And some of you saying hers (and others) music sucks...well, maybe it does, but it's a sure sign that you are getting older. Not everyone listens to music with a technical ear and needs to have an emotional connection to the words. A lot of people just like a good beat and some catchy lyrics. That doesn't make it crap just because you're a self-proclaimed afficionado - first and foremost good music has to be entertaining. It may not stand the test of time, it may not be "great" music, but there's an inherent contradiction claiming popular music is crap when it's a very subjective question.
