I don't think people believe that, but it is an insensitive comment seeing all the fisherman that are out of work right now because of the oil.

As someone said above, whether you buy your gas at Marathon, Sunoco, or Papa's and Mama's Oil, you are buying gas from the same pipeline.

So, the chances of buying "BP" gas from the actual BP oil explorations are about equal whether you buy from a BP gas station or a Marathon gas station.

All they do from the regional distribution center to the pumps is add the "BP" additives vs "Marathon" additives.

Just filled the tank up, at BP.

And I think the CEO's comment was taken out of context. He basically was stating he wanted the mess taken care of just like everyone else. He wants things to be normal. No doubt his life has probably been changed forever.

If those are the worst "blunders" you have, then I think they've done ok.

The CEO sounds like a little pussy that doesn't want to take responsibilty for what HIS company has caused, but he still wants to make all of that money. "I want my life back" well so do all of the animals that have passed away due to YOUR company's screw up you stupid fuck. As far as I know he is still alive, so he does have a life.

Another PR disaster is the fact that they had to solicit ideas from the general public. BP has to be one of the worst managed companies EVER.

While I agree not buying gas from BP won't make a bit of difference, I find this point of view ironic coming from people that like to argue about politics on the internet.

Ok, look-- BP has nobody but themselves to blame. They haven't handled this in a way that would have people forgiving them. It's their own fault. I don't want anybody to lose their job and it sucks that anybody has to, but it happens all the time.

BP should seriously step up to the plate on this issue and thoroughly address the public and how they plan to fix the issue. They really haven't done that.

Of course people are going to protest, it happens when anything bad goes on with a certain company. That has to be expected, and it's not the protestors fault that shit is hitting the fan for a big company like BP.

BP could have really calmed this situation down before it got out of control, instead they were very passive on the issue.

The ignorant statement came from you blasting people that work at BP's gas stations. Not everyone is cut out to go to college and get a better job, but the people who work at BP are at least working and being productive members of society. Nothing went wrong in life, that's a job they have to get by.

The whole point is that the protesters are too ignorant to even know who to protest. I don't think anybody is defending BP.

I agree that British Petroleum is solely responsible for this mess and should deal with the consequences. All costs of clean-up and returning our ecological balance to as good as possible is up to them. Anyone who criticizes Obama for not acting and "solving" this problem better not be one of those folks who is always throwing terms like socialism and communism around. We wouldn't want our President to exhibit socialistic tendencies and "take over"...would we? I also agree about those that work for BP. It isn't fair to criticize these workers for seeking and obtaining employment. They are to be commended rather than condemned. This disaster will be with us for years to come with regard to ecological developments that have not even begun as yet. It will require patience and it will require us to come together to get this thing solved. Debate points are not important here. They will not save a single sea animal, nor will they stop the flow of oil into the already saturated Gulf. Jobs have already been lost and it will never be exactly like it was.
