Bucks get an easy opening night victory vs. Alcorn State, now play James Madison Thurs. before heading up to MSG on Monday night to take on North Carolina. Any thoughts?

I thought the Bucks looked real good last night... of course I'm keeping it in perspective that it was against Alcorn St. who had 6 freshman dressed....

Hopefully Turner can continue to be a monster on the boards and Diebler can still light it up outside

I'd like to see Big Z have a better game, he'll come in handy once the games get a little tougher until Lauderdale returns.

It was nice to see some other guys get minutes last night... Walter Offut is finally healthy, and seeing Lighty on the floor with Buford and Diebler and Hill could be scary....

I would like to see if Jon Diebler can continue his hot shooting before the trip to MSG next Thursday and Friday. There is no doubt they'll face tougher defenses in New York than Alcorn State and James Madison, so it'll be nice if he can get some more confidence before North Carolina.

yeah, it'll be interesting to see how Carolina defends the Buckeyes; stay in zone and hope the Bucks are cold or play tough man-to-man with a lot of pressure

UNC never plays zone. Roy Williams is all about pressure man-to-man to create to's and take advantage of the "GO GO Carolina" offense...

You would think JMU might give them a little better look compared to Alcorn St. They do play in the Colonial along with George Mason and Virginia Comm. I'm not saying Ohio State won't flatten them, but hopefully it will be a better game.

Hopefully Diebler finally breaks through this year. He's been decent, but he hasn't even come close to expectations. I figured that he'd struggle athletically at times, but his shooting ability over the past few years that really surprises me.

He's currently leading the NCAA in scoring according to ESPN. ;)

Last year he shot 42% from three, so that's pretty good. He's not the scorer he was in high school, but he's a pretty good shooter.

yeah, hopefully James Madison is a step up in the competition.

I hope the Bucks can handle the pressure and steal a big one early on in the year.

James Madison will certainly be better than Alcorn, but OSU should roll. I'd love to see Turner put up 30 against James Madison to kind of boost his stats in a way.

they looked really athletic against Alcorn. I think the new guys will find their place with time.

I'm really excited to see how Walter Offutt is going to fit in this year. I think he is going to surprise a lot of people.

I really liked seeing Simmons getting a chance to play the wing. He and Offut are going to be critical coming off the bench, providing some instant O. A little too much standing around occasionally on the offensive end especially by Buford, if he can move w/o the ball and get open, with ET driving and kicking Buford and Diebler should both be around 15-20 point scorers a night.

It will be interesting though to see how we hit the defensive glass and what we do in the paint against those tree's from UNC.

What year was it that James Madison beat the Buckeyes in the tourney?

I want to see if they keep their Turnovers down again this game. That is what will allow them to beat UNC and that is what killed them all last year. If the don't turn the ball over they will always be tough.

I could have sworn they lost to them in the tourney. I am getting older so the memory isn't as good as I once thought it was.

OSU lost to James Madison in 1982. This according to 97.1 The Fan.
