I think its funny that our Cops can't chase down and tackle a 14 year old boy. What a bunch of fat fuckheads America is.

Capone, I didn't take anyone's side, I just said that Cops nowadays can't even chase down and tackle a 14 year old boy. I'll give you credit though, you'd have run like Jackie Joyner Kersey if someone told you to chase a 14 year old boy. Then you'd dry hump him.

I do have a problem with how reviews of police behavior are done though. They shouldn't be done by police, let alone police that work at the same damned station. These people know each other, are often friends, and have a vested interest in the department not looking bad. There should be a third party to review things like this.

I have to agree with this statement the most... No one can blame the officer if his aim was a little off while running. It seems that the taser use was justified by the actions of the teenager as well.
BUT.... For a theft of only $4.94, wouldn't it have been easier to pick the kid up at home in the middle of the night or during school and avoided all of this? Just sayin', I can't tell you where a 35 year old man will be at 3:30 am, but a 15 year old kid? They knew who he was, just go get him when hes hugging his stuffed barney animal and this all could have been avoided.

I'd agree. Honestly, I think it would have been MUCH more effective if federal agents had tailed the kid for a week using infrared and unmarked vans and then took him and his crew via a Heat-like shootout scene.
What the hell would you arrest the kid for right after he stole the petty tool, when there is clearly a bigger travel pack tool theft operation taking place.

The innocent definitely run from the police from time-to-time. I think tazing this kid was probably justified (sorry about the bad aim, brah), but I don't agree with the sentiment that anyone who runs is guilty, or that if you commit a crime, any police action happening after that is justified. For example, it's illegal for a cop to shoot someone who is running away if the crime is not a violent felony (I believe that's the standard).
