I always threaten to cancel. They have a $120 allowance to keep you as a customer....usually that means $20 off a month for 6 months

If you have HD through Directv you call up and ask for the "Free HD" promo and get a $10 bill credit for the next 24 months if you sign up for auto bill pay.
If you currently use auto bill pay, you can still get the promo. I was on the phone for around 5 minutes.
