I got $20/week during football season when I couldn't work and nothing when I was working.

I painted one of the barns once and got $600 when I was 13. The barn painters wanted $1200

So, b/c you get an allowance for doing chores/a little extra means your childhood isn't fun? Lame.

I don't give my son money just so he can start buying his own stuff. The money he earns gets saved. He doesn't spend a penny of it.

If i needed money as a kid, i would pocket the lunch money my parents gave me and secretly pack my lunch at home before school.

Easy way to make a cool $20, at least, every week. :D

Never ever got an allowance. If I needed something (WITHIN reason) my parents saw that I had it. If I did extra "work" at my grandparents (i.e., mowing their lawn, trimming trees, etc.) my grandparents paid me for the "work".

Maybe you should make fewer threads asking for advice and spend more time polishing your English skills.

Masturbating in the barn and aiming it on the walls does not make you a painter.

When toys are made about professional athletes, those are called action figures.

See what I did there?

See?

I called NASCAR drivers athletes.

I plan to have my kids on something like this

$5( spend two, save two, give $1) or something along that line of Spend,Save,Give.

As for what they will get money for, that is still up for debate. Somethings they will do because I am the boss and they have to listen, somethings they will get "commission" on for doing.

I never had an allowance, but also never asked for one. To be honest, my siblings and I got pretty much whatever we wanted. We were very lucky in that regard. I did do plenty of work and chores, however!

I got 10 bucks every 2 weeks to help out with chores around the house.. mowing, weedeating, painting, little things like that.
