MAC's are overpriced. Seriously, anyone who buys a MAC is a retard as spending 30 seconds looking over the specs from a simple MAC and a simple PC.

Look, the cheapest Macbook, is $1,000 which comes with the following:

# 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
# 2GB DDR3 memory
# 250GB hard drive

And a 13 inch screen.

Look at a dell in comparison, for $650, it comes with:

NEW 2010 Intel®Core™ i3 - 330M
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1066MHz
320GB, 5400 RPM

And a 17.3 inch screen.

It's not even close, you spend $500 less and get BETTER STUFF LOL

I think a popular interview question should be "Which would you rather buy, a MAC or PC?" and if anyone answers MAC end the interview right there because there's no point in discussing with this CLOWN further.

BTW, this thread is retarded. It's just a way to start another MAC vs PC pissing contest.

Idiots like you are just as bad as any Mac fanboy. Anyone who claims superiority over a computer is an idiot.

<<<Have my Mac for 4 years, student discount, still runs like a champ. My Dell crapped out after 2 years.

Dell's are garbage. Since you are obviously going PC.....I'd go with Toshiba, Lenovo, or Sony. Although I've never used one.....my friend just got a new Acer....custom built and pretty slick.

I won't vouch for Toshiba, have had 2 and switched to Mac. 1st Toshiba was ok for the first 2 yrs then starting crapping quick, the 2nd performed will just less than year and went to crap.

I've actually had good luck with Dell. I bought one refurbished and it lasted 4 1/2 years. That fucker was damn near 6 years old before it finally failed.
Parents had a dell for 5 years, it still ran when I bought them another one for Christmas. It's 3 years old now and runs well.

All of ours have been long lasting systems.

Posting on a Dell that is 7 years old. Other than a serious lack of RAM, it runs fine. I'm convinced that 99.99% of PC problems are just serious user stupidity.

I have a Dell netbook and it had some problems...sent it back twice. A couple other people in my family have some lappys and batteries seem to be the common problem with them. Had to replace batteries with aftermarket ones....other than that, they seem to like them.

LOL really? I just showed the price and the specs of 2 computers, its clear PC rapes MAC. When MAC can produce a product that cheaply, and have it be almost double its power, then I could see more equality.

Until then, PC > MAC

All computers are terrible. They break and get outdated because there are millions of tiny things that all have to work properly for them to perform well.

I would also suggest not getting a Mac based on the fact that I like to tinker with shit and Macs aren't really cohesive to that. And I'm a sucker for the newest hardware and Macs are only the newest right after a new refresh comes out because they wait so long to update their products.

But someone getting a Mac doesn't make them stupid.

I haven't shopped for a laptop in a few years so I really don't know what to suggest.

Really? I have two Toshiba Satellite laptops and I have never had an issue with both. I try to recommend Toshiba to anybody who is looking for a new computer. They are a little more than a Dell but priced right around HP.

I am, I had a satelite myself and was loving it so I bought my girl one too, then mine starting crapped out after 2 years in and hers about a year in. I haven't replaced hers yet but since I bought my Mac she doesn't even think about the toshiba anymore could careless about it and wants a Mac.

That's because Mac users are noobs and wouldn't know what to talk about when it comes to the specifics.

C'mon damon....don't be so judgmental. I own PCs, I own Macs, I'd consider myself somewhat of a "tech nerd."

What a person chooses to buy does not define who they are. Its all about personal preference.

I have no preference when it comes to the two, but after we used the various education discounts my uncle got me I was able to get my MacBook for less than the majority of equivalent PCs. I've absolutely loved it, but without the discount I'd have a hard time getting one again.

A fairly popular reply by MAC enthusiasts because there's no other way to justify paying more money for an inferior product. It's similar to the religious believers argument "Well you have to have faith", which is equally full of shit.
