With a badly abcessed tooth. I woke up this morning to my left jaw looking like I had half a tennis ball in there. I was supposed to get the tooth pulled yesterday, but the dentist said he wanted the swelling to go down first, so he gave me some Amoxicillin, and said to come back Monday. When I woke up, it was twice the size it had been, and I was having trouble swallowing. I called the dentist, and he said go straight to the ER. Two CAT scans, and a bag of antibiotics later, I'm home. Not my favorite way to spend my day. :@

I had an abcess once. I swished warm saltwater, and the swelling was gone within minutes.

At least it was not during football season.

Hope you get to feeling better football71. I've had two root canals, one of which was on an emergency basis. I'm glad I didn't get to the abscess level.

Had an abcess a month ago. Worst tooth pain I've ever had in my life. The inpending root canal wasn't a walk thru the daisys either.

For those of you who hate going to the dentist like I do, when you discover you have a cavity, just man up and get it taken care of asap. TRUST me, it's the lesser of two pains.
