Braxton Miller will be announcing his college choice this coming Thursday. I'm not sure of a time or anything like that. I'm guessing it's the Buckeyes. I can't see it being anybody else, especially with announcing early. Landing him would be a HUGE help in the recruitment of Trey DePriest, as well.

Hopefully he signs with the Bucks. He'll be a GREAT player. Sure wouldn't want to face him, I'd much rather cheer for him.

This is a huge announcement. Could settle the Buckeyes' quarterback situation for a while.

True, although I think the Bucks will be fine after Pryor. The young cat they've got now could turn out to be a good good player.

This is what I've been waiting for. Since he's announcing early, I feel like it has to be Ohio State.

Miller has said several times that once he commits, he's going to recruit other prospects like crazy. This should be a great thing for OSU, and will hopefully allow them to close well this year.

I'm sure Miller will really work hard on his buddy DePriest, but I'm afraid that Bama is going to get him. If that happens, I hope that Tressel is able to keep the rest of Ohio's big names in-state.

he'd be nice to get.

i have a feeling if he commits, don't expect to see Kenny Guiton hanging around for too much longer.

I feel like since it's so early, it's the Buckeyes. He would be heckled all season long if it weren't

I'm not going to lie, I'm skeptical of his abilities as a passer.....though I've only seen him on video and not in person. Looks to be a great athlete though

The Plain Dealer (Cleveland paper) had something about him today and when comparing him to Pryor they said he is a step slower but already a more advanced passer. The link posted above had this quote:
Miller has completed 225-of-408 passes (55.2 percent) during his career for 2,628 yards. He’s also rushed for 938 yards.

I like the fact he appears to be a pass first QB as opposed to taking off and running right away. The article also said he has missed 9 of 33 games due to injuries. Does anybody know what type of injuries he has sustained?

Ohio State Top-Target Braxton Miller Set To Announce College Choice
The Ohio State recruiting class of 2011, which already appears to potentially be a top 10 group, could get an enormous ratings boost Thursday (June 3) around 12:00 noon.

Wayne (Ohio) quarterback Braxton Miller, considered the top prospect in the nation according to Scout.com , will either confirm what every Buckeye fan has hoped for and suspected for nearly two years and choose Ohio State, or he could break our hearts and select from his other finalists—among them, Alabama, Florida, and USC.

Unconfirmed reports are saying that a source close to Wayne head coach Jay Minton has indicated Miller will indeed announce that he has chosen the Buckeyes.

A few things working in favor of the Buckeyes

Even though 2010 will be starter Greg McElroy's last at Alabama, Tuscaloosa is very far from home, plus Tide coach Nick Saban might bolt for another job at any time after swearing on your life that he's not going anywhere.

If you have ever heard of Tim Tebow (or Chris Leak, or Jesse Palmer, or Danny Wuerffel...), then you know that Florida doesn't exactly develop or prepare quarterbacks for the next level very well.

I think it's safe to say that USC can be eliminated, considering the NCAA is set to announce possible serious sanctions against the Trojans on Friday, the day after Braxton will make his announcement.

Also, Miller hasn't taken an official visit to any of his other suitors listed above, so perhaps that too bodes well for Ohio State.

They say to never count your chickens before they hatch, but what about your quarterbacks? Is it too soon to count Miller in?

Maybe, but it sure sounds like he will end up as a Buckeye, and from what we have been hearing ever since Ohio State told Braxton that they wanted him to be Terrelle Pryor's successor, he will confirm that he is going to be—and always was—a Buckeye.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but OSU (as I'm sure others will point out) doesn't exactly have a stellar history of getting QBs into the league.

He was a 5th round draft pick and in 3 years in the NFL, Troy has thrown 89 passes. That's not exactly something to brag about.

At least Tebow was a first round pick.

(Don't get me wrong. I loved Troy when he was at OSU. He was a wolverine killer!)

The better question is, Troy Smith, best 5th round QB of all time?

I would say, without a doubt.

Mark Brunell was drafted by Green Bay in the fifth round of the 1993 draft. Clearly he was a better 5th round QB. :)

I like that fact too, but his numbers are pretty low for 24 games...by his yardage, and playing in 24 games, he's passing for just over 115 ypg, and rushing for like...40? How do you get to be a top recruit in the nation with those kind of numbers? Those stats can't be right. Hell my little piss ass tiny HS had a kid throw for 2,000 and run for 1,200 just last year alone in 10 games...he's started 3 years, with 1 year to go and has passed for almost 4,000 yards and ran for another 2,500 in 30 games..so...that CANT be Miller's career #'s can it?

I think one thing that factors into his high rating is the fact that he is playing against the best football teams Ohio has to offer. I know they played Glenville last year, along with several top Cincy HS's with plenty of Div. I talent.

Scouting Report: http://www.volnation.com/2010/04/06/breaking-down-braxton-miller/

A comment on the scouting report blames Miller's lack of good receivers as the reason for his accuracy statistics. . . I've never watched Wayne, but I've heard Miller is really all they have. Can anyone confirm this?

Since this class is basically half full now, he won't have THAT much work to do. In fact, some of the "insiders" on other sites believe Ohio State will have its full complement of verbals by the end of summer, or very close.

I'd heard elsewhere (another site) that DePriest has some family issues that may weigh heavily in his decision to stay closer to home. No idea what they are, but if that information is true...that and his long-standing friendship with Miller might keep him in Ohio.

Funny, the O-Zone reporter said at 12:18 the press conference hadn't yet begun.
