Saw this this morning in the Daily Record. After playing 2 years for the Golden Flashes, she's heading to Ashland.

Anyone know why???

No, don't know why. I thought she was going to Mt. Vernon Naz.

I'll take a guess: division I basketball is serious, big business. Coaches have 6 figure salaries and their success depends on how 18-21 year olds perform. They push them. Some players say they abuse them. Hiland girls come from a program where their coach spoils them rotten and sometimes go to programs where the coaches care way more about themselves than they do their players. They spend a couple of years in the pressure cooker and then get out. Jena proved she can play DI basketball at KSU. She's probably just wanting to enjoy the game again.

300, give me a PM update on your end.

I thought she may have decided to get out of the MAC now, and not want to compete with Noelle at BGSU.

I'm sure Jena is doing what is best for her. She's a great young lady with a good head on her shoulders. Noelle is finding out about DI college basketball already. Her lifting program takes her 2 hours per day and then another couple hours of working on her game. Noelle loves the game. I just hope the college thing doesn't take that away from her.

from what I've heard i think you're probably right Pariah. as in, enjoying the game. I think few hiland players will find a coach that treats them like Dave. He can be demanding, but is a good guy and genuinely cares about the girls--on and off the floor. Don't think they find that at many DI programs (and maybe Kent in particular?)
