jordo, I don't know whether you are talking to me or to 2QUIk, but regardless, I don't anticipate having to make any excuses. I don't think I have in the past and while the Celtics certainly have the team that can beat the Lakers, something happens when Kobe takes over a game at the end. You saw it again tonight and the Celtics, although leading the Lakers in their Finals Series 9-2, will have to deal with this incredible clutch player and I'm not sure they can.

anyone notice a difference in how the teams celebrated, the celtics acted like they just won the championship when they were handed the ecf trophy and the lakers didnt even give a shit

Nah I was directing my comment towards 2quik, and it was a joke dating back to another thread where somebody emotionally invested in their team made a prediction.Swamp Fox wrote: jordo, I don't know whether you are talking to me or to 2QUIk, but regardless, I don't anticipate having to make any excuses. In fairness, this happened 2 years ago as well. And unfortunately, we saw the ugly Green hoisting up the Larry O'Brien.2quik4u wrote: anyone notice a difference in how the teams celebrated, the celtics acted like they just won the championship when they were handed the ecf trophy and the lakers didnt even give a shit
I'm with Trueblue, and just about any other Laker fan; let's just get the darn thing started already.
As always, Go Lakers!

The NBA needs to take a serious look at how bad guys like Crawford and Rush are...it makes the games unwatchable at times.osu45804 wrote: I don't want no part of Joey Crawford or Eddie Rush this series .. that is all

Just a little trivia, Crawford officiated the Lakers-Celtics Final back in 1987. Back then, he had hair. lol

This is a very even matchup... Boston has the Bigs (Perk, KG, Sheed, Baby, Shelden) to bang and rack up fouls on (Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Artest)... The backcourt of (Rondo, Ray, Nate, Tony Allen) has been great all playoffs and will matchup well with (Fisher, Farmar, Brown,Vujacic) ...... Kobe vs. Pierce was a epic matchup 2 years ago and l don't expect nothing less.... Kobe is good, damn good but Pierce has always done a good on Kobe.....
If Rondo can penetrate like he did in the Cavs series (b/c well it's hard for anyone to drive continuously on Dwight Howard) it will open up a lot for Ray & Paul on the outside. Perk did a great job on Dwight if he can keep his cool this series (which we NEED) that will help as well. KG has been hitting those 15-18 foot jump shots all playoffs long and l hope that continues. IF Paul is the 2008 Finals MVP this series with Rondo now as option #4 this time we can see #18......
Like I'm going to pick us to lose lol............... Boston in 6

I've gotta say and IMO this is big.....Kobe is Kobe and makes big shots at all times of the game.....but does Derek Fisher get enough credit for teh shots he makes.......every game I watch when the Lakers are battling back or holding on to a lead it is Fisher that just sucks the life out of the opponents run. What has he missed...like 2 shots in these playoffs? It seems like it.
Boston has to contain him when it matters most.

Fishers stat line for the Playoffs:
11.1 ppg 46%Fg 38% 3pt
Fisher has been solid and has hit a few key shots but his real value comes in on the Road games where his toughness and experience shine.

Also we were at home as compared to the lakers being on the road... Big difference in atmosphere with your home crowd behind you. Most teams would celebrate in that instance.2quik4u wrote: anyone notice a difference in how the teams celebrated, the celtics acted like they just won the championship when they were handed the ecf trophy and the lakers didnt even give a shit

Nah, Kobe would have looked like this if they clinched at Home, besides the Lakers have a huge road following also and some teams home fans have been known to chant MVP for Kobe.....cough,cough Boston!osu45804 wrote:Also we were at home as compared to the lakers being on the road... You can't even talk reasonable basketball on here .... It's always the wheelchair or the chant in the upper deck a few years ago that was made out to be a big deal by the lakers broadcast team ... Trust me if the lakers were at home they would have been celebrating at midcourt like the Celtics. It's a big accomplishment to make the finals and if a organization like the Celtics are excited and celebrate I'm pretty sure it's okay for other teams as well.... No matter how this series goes I'm gonna be the one poster to be called out and it's okay because guess what? I'll still be a Celtics fan next season too! I respect Kobe's game and the lakers organization b/c well as a basketball fan you'd be dumb not to, Doesn't mean I don't hate their asses lol and with that being said GOD I wanna wipe that ugly ass grin off his face! lol ...... I just want to see a good series with the least amount of controversy as possible. And of course #18

Kobe was amazing in Game 6 against the Suns. He is hard to beat when dialed in like that....I still think that the Celtics have 4 bona fide stars and 4 stars is better than 1...even if that star is the greatest on the planet. Celtics in 6. MVP goes to Rondo.
btw...I know Phil has won 10 rings and that is amazing...but does anyone else think that it has something to do with always having the best player on the planet...really how hard is it to say give the ball to MJ or "Kobe, win this game"

Okay well I just saw an article from the L.A. Times where the writer just went overboard just a tad bit I'd say ..... It's okay to have fun w/ this rivalry and joke about each team & why you should hate one another (but really if you're a true fan you don't need a list of reasons why you should hate them lol).... But this line in the article goes, Pierce: "His idea of a good night out on the town is going out and getting stabbed" ..... Okay really? So it's funny to joke about a guy getting jumped by 3 guys & getting stabbed and coming very close to dying? Just shows no class and I can't believe the editor allowed that to be published.

That's pretty bad. And not saying it's OK or anything, but things like that happen with every rivalry. Someone always comes out and says something totally inappropriate. And let's be honest, I'm sure a Boston writer has made a comment about the sexual assault case.
