My little brother is a crew chief on KC-130s based at Cherry Point MCAS in Havelock, NC. This past weekend was their annual air show and he got to perform in it. Not only did he get to perform in it he did a mid air refueling with my uncle who is stationed at MCAS Beaufort in South Carolina. My uncle is a Major in the Marine Corps and flies F-18s. The first picture was taken by my little brother( a lance corporal) from his plane of my uncle(in the front seat) of his plane while refueling.

Here is a picture I took from the ground, my uncles is in the plane on the right, and my brother is in the big one.

Earlier in the day(6am) my brother had to report to the base because they had "pictures with the Blue Angels". I assumed(as did he) that it was some sort of group picture with the planes and pilots, well it turned out that his plane was going to carry the photographers for the Blue Angels as they flew in formation over the USS Enterprise that was out at sea for their annual calendar. Below are a few pictures from the photo shoot. I have some videos too and the Angels really are as close as they appear in these photos.

I know, I know "cool story bro" but how often does one get to see his brother and uncle perform together in an air show?

Yeah we got there wednesday and the air show was Saturday and Sunday. We saw the Angels practice Thursday and Friday and I have some great pics from the ground from that as well as videos. I just have to take time to go through and sort them, we bought an 18 mega pix Canon camera that takes 1080p video and in the 3 days I took 5,000 pictures and about an hour of video, once I get it sorted out I will post an album. The mid-air refueling was part of a 30 minute simulate/accelerated war scenario that included my uncle and his wingman making numerous simulated bombing runs and a finally of "the wall of fire". The Angels were awesome as always but watching my uncle and brother do what they were doing made me feel like a little kid again.

I saw them once when they used to have the air show out at Rickenbacker, and also when the Thunderbirds were out there, it was pretty sweet especially when they start going upside down so close to the ground

And just for fun a few of the Angels from the show

18" from wingtip to canopy

and the "stars" of the show, my little brother on the left and my uncle on the right. My grandpa in the middle. He took both to their first air shows back when Rickenbacker still had one

T2i....Best Buy was running a ridiculously good deal where you got a telephoto lens and the camera with a flash for around $1400. The pictures in mid air(the ones my brother took) were with a canon powershot 780sd. Soon as I get some time I will upload some videos to a site where I can share them here.
