Tonight at 7:30. USA plays a tune-up for the World Cup in a rather meaningless game in terms of results. But it has a great effect on ho will be playing in South Africa (30 needs to be 23 soon) and might decide what forward will be up top with Jozy since I think the rest of the positions are pretty much filled.

I hope and pray someone has a great game up top not named Ching. His ass needs to ride the pine as long as possible.

lol, I think Buddle is the best option. I dont think hes great, but probably in the best form outside of maybe Gomez...but the competition is a LITTLE questionable for him.

I think you have to move either Donovan or Dempsey up top and move holden out on the wing

Keep Dempsey at MF. That's his natural position, he plays better on the wing.

Starting 11:

Brad Guzan; Steve Cherundolo (C), Clarence Goodson, Oguchi Onyewu, Jonathan Bornstein; Stuart Holden, Maurice Edu, Jose Francisco Torres, DaMarcus Beasley; Edson Buddle, Eddie Johnson

Buddle and Johnson with a chance to shine right away.

That is the LAST thing they need to do. They have tried it and it has failed miserably with both players. Dont move your two best players out of their positions just to fill a spot up top. It would have a tremendously bad trickle down affect.

About to be underway! Lets go Buddle!!!!

Also hope my hometown boy (Beasley, from Ft. Wayne) plays well and makes the final roster...but I have my doubts, he probably shouldnt have made the 30 man lol.

Love the attacking mentality so far.

Some good passing in the midfield, need to obtain a bit more possession though.

I know that Stuart Holden didn't get any run in the premier league for Bolton but I think he can be a key player in the cup for the US.

IT was off a free kick, Cech fucked up the punch out and it was basically gift wrapped for Edu.

Czech just equalized, 1-1

holden put in a GREAT ball, despite the fact that Cech looked like a retard. It was just passed the back post at the 6 yard box. Nearly perfect placement (maybe about a yard to close to the goal)

Gooch still seems unsure about himself. I think he is/will be fine but this is his first extended playing time since the injury and it is showing

no midfield at all with this group. The lack of depth is showing here

Holden with 2 good set piece passes/crosses. The corner was maybe a little to lofty, but great placement again.

Gomez with the nice run not giving up after the long corner.

Pretty bad defense all around tonight for the USA. I loked how they moved going forward though. Nice overlaps and runs from people giving the man with the ball tons of options.

Wow, they need to keep this goalie at home...he didn't charge that at all.

Brad Guzan is pretty much slotted in the #2 slot. I have NO CLUE why he is still at Aston Villa though. He cant see the field ahead of countryman Brad Friedel.

Friedel can't play forever. I know they say that goalkeepers age like fine wine but 40 has to be pretty frickin close to the limit
