I vote the Indians just don't hire a manager. Indians fans are never happy with who they got. :D

Are you saying Jesus can't hit a curve ball?:D

I was never a fan of the hire, but the team he inherited is just dreadful.

A typical Cleveland reaction.

Same shit happened with Mangini just recently, remember?

Manny Acta might as well not bother managing this team until the FO gets him some players--wtf do you expect him to do? Pull home runs out of his ass and hand them to his players

When Grady Sizemore is the biggest name on your team and no one else is really that close--you're in major trouble.

I'll give Acta a pass. It's the shitbag owner that needs to go along with Shapiro. Can't win a gunfight with a squirt gun.

yeah, unless you can point out something specific that Acta is doing to lose games that arent a result of crappy players, there is no reason to fire him 2 months into the season.

Shitbag Shapiro and Daddy NoBucks Dolan are the ones who gave the Tribe their superstar (Sabathia, Lee, V-Mart, etc) enema, NOT Acta.

Precisely. With no references to "Crapiro" and "ND Grad" in this post, it's obviously it's not the real deal.

Most people knew Acta wasn't the answer the day they hired him.

Dolan just picked the manager that came with the smallest price tag (of course), and when you get fired from the Nationals your asking price is low.

Also, as mentioned, not many people can manage an AAA team at the MLB level and do THAT well...

Manny has done an OK job...Hard to win a 5 card stud hand with 10 high. Sizemore is hittin 2 bucks. K Wood is shuttin em down with a crisp 2 earned runs per inning. The ss is out for 2 months. Moon Pie and Branyon are air conditioning the ball park. And now tripple A Trevor is stinking up the outfield.

The cachers are the worst in all of baseball. At least Hafner is now hitting his weight mnow...but it took him awhile.

From an outsider the Indians are a meager looking team.

I don't know if Acta is any good or not......but his team doesn't appear to be.

Look at how much better Washington has been without him since they fired him.

His record was abysmal. Why are people surprised that he is doing so poorly here. When you have a track record of losing like he does it is hard to break.

Bobby Valentine was one of the finalists but no way Dolan was paying for him.

He definately has no firepower of any sorts. You never see him drag his ass out og the dugout to argue calls. And if he does it's a "blue are you sure that was a strike?"...no emotion at all. I know he has nothing to work with, but I don't like the guy as of yet.

Agree with that.

Just for reference...

2009 Washington with Acta: 26-61
2009 Washington after he was fired: 33-42

2010 Washington: 22-22

That improvement is a little bit too large to just be overlooked. Acta was the worst possible hire (which I said at the time), but he will get a pass from me until the team has enough talent that it could conceivably not suck, which will probably be at least 3-5 years.

3-5 years? You anticipate them having a new owner sometime soon?

No I don't, but I do feel like Shapiro has to get canned sooner or later.

Not sure how much of a difference that will make, but we'll see.
