Even if you don't live in New York, if you want to read something infuriating, hit the link:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/21/business/economy/21pension.html?pagewanted=1

Quotes of note:

"I don’t understand how the working guy that held up their end of the bargain became the problem"

Well, I don't know if retiring at age 44 and padding overtime by flagging vehicles is much working, but you didn't hold up your end of the bargain by not properly funding your bloated pensions.

"I concede, I have a very good pension, but what’s that pension going to be worth when I’m 70 years old?”

I'm sure you'll get a lot of sympathy for drawing 'only' $2.6M+ in your pension.

What a horrible, horrible human being. And people want to EXPAND government. We're all a bunch of suckers to have let this country turn ito the condition it is in.

One of the youngest, Hugo Tassone, retired at 44 with a base pay of about $74,000 a year. His pension is now $101,333 a year.
Amazing!

The people who abuse these systems deserve harsh legal punishments.

Also, as to the topic, a clear example of how unions are ruining the country. Unions negotiated these pensions and the government actually agreed?

Yet, the left believe that we need more government and union involvement in the workplace.

Of course we do.

After all who is going to stick it to those greedy bastard white capitalists who create the jobs that feed the people who pay the taxes that keep the government growing and ever more intrusive in our daily lives and liberties? See how that works?
