I bought the PS3 today and plugged it in. The picture isn't great though. My TV is 720p... do I need to go out and buy Component cables to make it look better?

I have seen it with the rca cables...it is almost unwatchable.

If your TV has an HDMI input, don't bother with component cables.

Yes, HDMI cables are the way to go for gaming, especially if you have a HDTV.

Yes. The PS3 (and 360) have the "female" inputs.
Just think of penis and vagina. The Male portion would be the one inserted into the device
