LeBron put up good stats, but he played poorly for the better part of this series.

LeBron's obviously a great player, but you can't deny that his playoff performances in recent seasons -- and he did NOT play to the level of competitiveness he should have in the latter part of the Boston series, despite what some of the statistics may say -- have taken away from his definitive place as the game's "best."

Kobe still has an argument, and a damn good one. And, at least for the foreseeable future, it looks like LeBron is going to have to take that position from Kobe's cold dead hands before it's "The King's" for good. Funny thing is, as I've pointed out before, Kevin Durant might snatch it before LeBron ever has the chance (the "definitive best player in the League" that is).

I put more faith in Lebron's team taking a dump in the playoffs rather than Lebron flopping completely. Game 5 was an anomaly, I hope we never see that from him ever again.

And seriously, Kobe has "it"? What happens when Kobe doesn't have Gasol or prime Shaq? Can't get out of the first round.

All I'm saying is that, at present time, I don't think LeBron can be labeled the "definitive best," with no other serious contenders. That's what Jordan was in the '90s. No one was close. That's what some here -- we all know who -- are trying to label LeBron. And that's just not true. The ballots aren't all in yet, and this year's playoffs are a prime example.

Is LeBron "one of the greatest" in the NBA, yes. Perhaps even tied with Kobe, or maybe even slightly ahead of Kobe depending on a person's point of view. But Kobe still has, if not the right, the argument to lay claim to the title of best. Not the definitive best, but the best.

There is no definitive best. That's all I'm saying.

Wait right there, I agree that a lot of this stuff is bullshit, because I care more about the Cavs then I do one player, BUT NOBODY can deny LeBron's previous playoff performances.

This year, he stunk in the Boston series, but last season he had a TREMENDOUS postseason. His stat line in the Orlando series was RIDICULOUS. Something like 38/9/9.

The year before that, he nearly beat the Celtics (who went on to win the title) by himself. He had a great game 7.

2007 was an amazing year. He had the greatest playoff performance of all-time against Detroit. Going for 48 (25 straight points and 29 of the teams final 30 points) in getting the Cavs over the EC hump.

His playoff debut in 2005 saw him grab a triple-double against the Wizards.

The talks that Lebron doesn't play well in the postseason is just stupid. He's carried his team in past seasons.

And although he didn't play his best against Boston, they defended him well and he averaged 27/9/7. We are just spoiled. No other player in the league can play below their standards and average 27/9/7.

Who said he "didn't play well in the playoffs?" He shit in his hat the last three games against Boston when it MATTERED.. Up until then, he was fine.

Then I saw LBJ become a fuckin' man this year, but they play more than the regular season; and although he had good stats, that series against Boston showed me he has more to learn between the ears. His talent is there, it's better than Kobe's. But Kobe's got it between the ears when it matters most. LBJ is 25, he'll get it sooner rather than later.
