Are you prepared to help finance her opponent when she comes up for re-election? Any moron can rail about politicians. The only way to effect change is to get involved. I suggest you move to her district and work hard for her defeat.

That's a good idea. I'll move from Ohio to California, which I literally wouldn't step foot in if you paid me too, just to use my imaginary money to finance some idiots campaign.

I don't think there is anybody that is suprised by her derangement.

I don't think that you'll find too many folks who will openly agree with her or try to rationalize these latest statements from her.
But it is a testament to the thought process of the people who elect her and politicians like her.

100% correct, we have acquaintances that are pretty far left on the spectrum (though for some reason aren't crowing about Obama the way they used to [note, many are unemployed now or are worried about their jobs] but rather still focus on Bush hatred), we've never heard ANYONE defend Pelosi in any manner. Heck, we've heard dyed-in-the-wool DEMS mention that they can't stand her, yet she's second in line to the Presidency, but is unelectable in probably 430 Congressional districts. I actually think she has mental issues and lives in her own little world and is utterly clueless as to how much she is hated, fortunately for her that world includes the people that would vote for her.

She is an enabler for the radical socialist/marxist elements that have seized power in the federal government. She has zero regard for the 3,000 miles that lie between Washington D.C. and San Francisco. She shouldn't be in charge of her local school board, let alone be the Speaker of the House of Representatives. We have elected the enemy.

Though, i would like to see something really vibrant like Canada has through the Canadian Council for the Arts provide increased funding for musicians and artists.

But, those are provided through grants and the like, so not nearly the same as what Pelosi is thinking, obviously.

Always good to support the arts, but Pelosi's reasoning re: the health care bill is just idiotic.

The problem with Pelosi's remarks, however, is that from hindsight, they are not bright, new, or liberating. On the contrary, almost identical words were penned over a hundred years ago by another champion of economic "freedom": Karl Marx. Marx criticized the private economy because it led to the "renunciation of life and of human needs."


Like Pelosi, Marx was deeply troubled by an economic system that left most people job-locked and unable to satisfy their "human need" to become more authentic. But, i can't disagree completely with his comments in this regard.

P.S. Doesn't really make sense to compare her to Karl Marx, because despite how much you might disagree with Marx, there is no denying that he was about 100 million x smarter than Pelosi could ever dream to be.

What makes his ideals so dangerous is that his 'followers' aren't true believers, in that they are exempt from all of these societal rules as they are superior and know what's best for all of the little people.

People like Pelosi and Al Gore aren't marxists, they are part of the ruling elite that invoke his ideas when it is politically convenient for them, but have no problem flying first class, eating caviar or buying mansions outside Santa Barbara.

BTW I don't think it is just $$$ that spurns this hypocrisy, you see it in high levels of academia as well. Rules are for the little or ignorant people.

i have no intention of stepping in that state either. just not my type of place or my type of people there.

There is about every type of person possible in California, depending on what part of the state you're in.

Not like it is one group alone that represents the entire state.

I've spent a decent amount of time there, and have ended up in VASTLY different atmospheres depending on the area i was in.
