Can you find the President touting a project funded by his stimulus package THAT WOULD HAVE PROCEEDED ANYWAY, EVEN WITHOUT THE MONEY, according to the president of the French company in charge of it.

So, taxpayers just gave a foreign company $19 million hard-earned taxpayer dollars to grow a project -- that was going to grow, anyway.

Was this REALLY the message Obama wanted to get out by visiting Youngstown as part of this charade?

I kind of doubt it. Then again, the real story WON'T get out in any widespread manner, so I guess it really doesn't matter in the long run.

Can you imagine the kinds of stories we'd be seeing in the media today (about waste and fraud) surrounding all these stimulus projects if we actually had a Fourth Estate interested in holding our President and Congress accountable for their spending -- as opposed to promoting a political agenda they agree with?

Not to mention the competition this company brings to american tube makers like timken, who I'm sure could use some $ for capital projects themselves.

Of course they are. They don't mind using tax dollars for this, they only object to who brings the message.

obama/pelosi/reid are so completely out of touch ....... that they actually fit in well with much of the outdated mindset of the valley. If you want some sobering facts relative to the carnage left behind after 40 years of democrat/union 'leadership' in the tri-county area, read this article:
http://www.salemnews.net/page/content.detail/id/525812.html?nav=5007

For obama to show up and act like he is pro-business is the height of hypocrisy.
November cannot arrive soon enough.

Nov. will show up & the Ds will do very well, as they have had an excellent primary season + won the Pa. Special election for the Senate. The R propaganda isn't selling well. :p

If losing 25-30 seats in the House and about 8 seats in the Senate is "doing very well" then so be it.

I don't foresee the Rs taking over either house, but they will get darn close to "50/50" in each house.

Don't bet "your" house on it, :p

Some big surprises ahead in the Fall. The R propaganda machine is about to be exposed.

As opposed to the liberal propaganda machine? Oh, I forgot, liberals know what is best so it isn't propaganda.

I would bet my house on it ...... conservative R's should pick up about 50 seats or more. The radical socialists who have seized federal power have just a few months left to destroy what remains; we'll see what they try to do next.

But inadvertently forgot to advise their constituents prior thereto of their agenda to seize 1/6th of the economy, AND MORE. The real democratic process will thus occur with their ouster in November.

I'll be first in line.

Are you referring to the the Murtha seat? That's for the House not the Senate. Or you could be referring to Benedict Arlen Specter getting his ass handed to him by another Dem. If so, so what?

Trust me on this, even a lot of the staunch Dems at my place of employment here in Pennsylvania are none too happy on what's going on in DC. I have a hunch the House and Senate are in for a major shake-up this November..."R propaganda" notwithstanding.

When all is said & done & the votes are counted, the Ds will still hold the House & Senate. Be glad to remind you "gentlemen" about my comments then and have you "explain" yourself, :p

Will love to watch as Sestak takes Toomey apart in Pa. and Paul gets beat in Ky byt the D ( both the D winner & loser each got more votes than Paul & voter registration is heavy for Ds by almost 2-1 over Rs).

Perhaps...but barely. With such a slim majority the mad rush to European-style socialism will slow to a crawl...thank God.

If you think Paul is going to lose in KY based on that expert "analysis," then you should just stop posting on political topics. Seriously.

When was the last time a pub sat in PA-12? Critz won by running 100% on a GOP based platform. You keep up the good fight though, dude.

Yeah, the dem's are doing great, especially when Obama campaigns for them. He is 0 for 4 right now .................... a sign of the times, indeed.

the american tube make makers want their cake and eat it to. they complain about the imported pipe and lobbied hard to get tariffs. but yet the steel the american tube makers use to make pipe is imported. you have one american tube maker thats goes out and buys the state side competitors and closes them down. i wonder how many people they put out of work. and people whine about a french owned company opening a plant.

Nobody with half a brain is "whining" about the French opening a plant -- we just don't see why we had to waste taxpayer dollars as part of a "stimulus" when the project was going forward, anyway.

That taxpayer dollars were wasted on this -- and the fact that it was done in Youngstown, and touted as some great accomplishment by Obama, is almost like the perfect storm of clusterfucks.

this project going forward was no way etched in stone. your in my neck of the woods now. i might have a little more insight in to this than yourself. when you can create jobs in city like youngstown that is a great accomplishment. if taxpayer dollars were used the thats a great. better than spending them overseas like the past administration. i guess using tax payer dollars to rebuild iraq was a great accomplishment, and not a waste.

Just out of curiosity, are you involved in this?
