In the history of this site and that one place we dumped, there have been hordes of posters (at least one!) who have claimed they are a master of puppets due to their ability to pull the strings of the casual user.
This made me wonder: is being a puppet master all that great of an accomplishment when the end result is that a large number of people simply ridicule, mock and openly insult you? If I was a puppet master, I would be using my mystical powers to get people to buy me booze or hook me up with hot friends, co-workers, etc...not make random trolling comments in order to see how many times I can have my intelligence mocked, sexuality questioned and so on.
It just seems strange. I can picture a conversation between a Puppet Master and a Normal Human in my head.
PM: Dude! I'm totally the puppet master!
NH: Awesome, man! What'd ya do?
PM: Man, I got on this message board and made some lame insult about a team and look at this! There's like 20 people who took the bait! I RULE!!!!
NH: Yeah...I see..."STFU dumbass"..."Go kill yourself!"..."God, you're an idiot."..."Look, the moron troll came back out of his hole."...and a number of posts making fun of what seems to be your very poor grasp of the English language. What is the point of this again?
PM: I say things and all the puppets dance on their strings! I'm a winner!!!
NH: So...you're saying you win because you say stupid things and people insult you in a derogatory, dismissive manner. And this accomplishes what?
PM: Uhhh....WAIT! See, look at you! You're on my string, now, puppet! HAHAHAHA!!!!
NH: *backs away slowly, realizing the person he's talking to is definitely not sane*
