Oddly enough, it was a brilliant marketing plan at one time.GoChiefs wrote:You're an engineer. And this is the best plan you could come up with?ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote: I'd sell rocks.

Low overhead. Culturally profitable at the time, relying on branding, of course. Why not?

Not likely, you're right. However, if someone marketed it right, it's possible.GoChiefs wrote:THAT guy might have..but do you really think someone will make a million doing that NOW? Ummmm...no.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote: The guy made a million dollars.
Maybe a rock is a stretch. Might not be a bad idea to use the model and twist the actual product.
Moreover, there is a wealthy generation coming up that has never heard of such a thing, so they're a fresh market. All you need for something like that is a low-cost object and the proper branding.

Take the job and then freelance or start your own business in what you like to do. If your own business takes off, you will be better off due to the drudgery of your own job.

This man had it all right but should have gotten out earlier. Just don't make the same mistake and you're golden.

It just seems ludicrous to be qualified like this and not be able to find work for so long.
I was laid off after the 9/11 recession in 2003. I looked for over a year, but made the good decision to work on my masters in the mean time.
I can't tell you how many times I heard "you are over qualified so we arent' going to hire you. You might leave inside of a year."
