These two teams split the regular season with Creek winning 4-3 and Edison winning 7-6.
Looks like an even match up with both teams peaking at the right time.
Congrats to both teams this season.

On a side note.
Former Edison player Aaron Hilt was recognized by the College Baseball Foundation as an National All Star for the week of may 4 for his shut out and no hitter for Ashland University.

On paper, this looks like a good game. Two pretty equal teams. Can't wait to see it.

Boy the Herald Star sure made it look like a huge upset for Creek to beat Big Red. IMO all the teams in the area are very close in talent. Yes I know they were seeded #1 but it's not like they dominated the area.
I know I should consider the source but that paper should do a better job of supporting all the local teams.

I agree. From the game I saw for the OVAC title, Creek gave them the game. Not sure this was an upset, but two even teams going at it in which anything could happen.Darkon wrote: Boy the Herald Star sure made it look like a huge upset for Creek to beat Big Red. I see alot of the same with Creek and Edison. Two programs that mirror each other.
Defense will detrmine the outcome of this one.

Looks like the winner will play Lakewood in the regional semifinal.
They won 6-5 over Olentangy.

Looking forward to the game. Lakewood must have a quality team. They beat most teams badly this year.
Good luck Wildcats!
Hope we party in Zanesville thursday night. Plan on staying if they win.

Was that Edison's ace that pitched today in the regional?

Edison has a few solid pitchers that could be labeled as number one. With that said, you saw two of the "ones" in yesterday's game. Connelly was the starter and is a senior. Stagani was the reliever and is a sophomore. Both pitchers have been called on in all of Edison's big games.BlueDevil11 wrote: Was that Edison's ace that pitched today in the regional?

Good season! Ran into a talented and deep Lakewood team(13 seniors). I give Lakewoods pitcher credit. He was not over powering but mixed it up very well and kept Edison hitters off balance.
Edison played a good game on defense exept for one missed fly ball that cost them a run. But that was not the deference,
Edison didn't hit. When they did it was right at them with to many fly balls and they made the plays.
Lakewood has a tough task in beating Zanesville. Zanesville looked very good in the first game.
Good luck to both teams.

Edisons ace didn't play this year.(personal reasons)BlueDevil11 wrote: Was that Edison's ace that pitched today in the regional?
As WooHaa stated. No #1 just some solid pitchers.
Look for Stagani to keep developing and make some noise the next 2 years.
