Jermaine Dye is still out there. Power right handed bat, could play some left field. Low risk, possible high return.

They have a logjam as it is. Heisey, Stubbs, Gomes, and Bruce should all be getting ABs. Dye is still jobless, that tells me everything I need to know about him.

The Reds are in this position because they have developed and farmed young talent. They need to stay the course. They shouldn't throw away ABs to a guy who is going to retire in a year or so.

Also Dye has said he's happy not playing and he's not been raking any swings or working out. No thanks, don't need someone who would just be looking for a paycheck.

The paycheck is exactly why he isn't playing. He has a high price, it's not that he can't get a job. He would be starting somewhere if it didn't cost a team a ton to sign him.

So hed rather make nothing than a pitiful couple millon dollar someplace.

Im not buying it.

I would buy something like that in the offseasion and partially through spring training...but come one.....he must have the ego the size of montana if the only reason why he is sitting at home is because no one offered him enough.
