The MWC wasn't going to get an auto-bid anyone unless they expanded more by adding the Big XII castoffs had the conference folded. Since they definitely aren't going to get an auto-bid now it probably was a bad idea because they would have been more likely to land in a BCS game more often in the WAC.
The difference may be that it might be more difficult to go undefeated. But, it could also put them in a better position IF they go undefeated. For example, Boise State was running behind TCU the majority of last season. Had it come down to only one spot between the two, Boise would've been left out. That could happen again. Now that Boise is in the MWC, if they go undefeated and so does say, Nevada out of the WAC, Boise State is getting the first bid hands down.
