that assist from Robinho was absolutely the most beautiful thing i have seen this month........THAT is WC!

and Yes, i stand firm on the opinion that there are at least 6 sides that are more talented than the Italians this year....
don't get all jiggy Rock...that is just the way it goes....very few dynasties or repeats in the WC...that is what is great about it.

it does not mean I don't respect the Italians, it is just that I do not respect blind adoration that is in complete conflict with the known facts or evidence.
i.e., I would love to see the USA in the semi's...I suspect that will not happen, so I am objective enough to make room for the Brazilians, or Spain, or Argentina, or the Netherlands.

I never knew that. Steve Tshabalala would've been a much cooler name.

While I dont think De Rossi was touched, cleates used in professional soccer are mostly metal screws. They hurt like a bitch and if the catch the top of your foot can break your bone.

SIX Barcelona players in the starting line-up for the Spanish, with Pedro and Valdes on the bench. That is incredible.

Yeah, that is pretty incredible that Barcelona couldn't win the CL with eight players on the #1 international team in the world

Iniesta having a heck of a game so far. He is gonna be so much more deadly with Villa up top and not retarded Ibra.

Haha

David Villa is having a hell of a game, too...just needs to finish 1 or 2.

The thing with Spain is sometimes they're too passive...they make an extra pass every now and then when they should have just shot the ball (and prob woulda scored). They're so glorious to watch..ball movement, timing, tactical moves, etc. but they are very frustrating when they don't shoot.

Yep. I have watched almost every single Barca game for the last 6 years and their influence on this Spanish side is so obvious. They are the only Spanish side that take it to this extreme, but they have so many players in the squad that Spain plays that way as well. Its the best soccer to watch imo, but they do love to basically pass it into the net. They dont like the tough shots.

That also comes from teams constantly playing the way the Swiss are, with so many defenders. They get into this habit of having to break down a team with passes and shorts passes around the goal, that they instinctively do it when a shot is available.

1-0 Swiss. Del Bosque needs to insert Torres and take Silva out, who has been worthless today.

Del Bosque went with Silva and Iniesta on the wings (Barca style) and had Busquets in the holding mid with Xabi Alonso and Xavi in the forward mid positions. It was an interesting tactic and clearly the wrong choice lol.
