Crazy angle to score from, but the keeper should've been on that post.

Buffon is most likely out of the World Cup with a "serious" back issue. Not good for Rock and his slimeballs.

Sucks for Gigi. I don't know a thing about his backup, Marchetti. I don't watch Serie A. It sucks ;)

No, you're the one who resorted to personal attacks, I responded accordingly. You have no clue about international football, none what so ever. Atleast guys like Automatic and Laley acknowledge that you can never right the Italians off, you on the other hand just don't understand and look foolish with your comments. Opinions are opinions and you're entitled to them but the way you present them is plain ignorant!

Doesn't look good for Buffon:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/world-cup/story/_/id/5288217/ce/us/italian-keeper-gianluigi-buffon-serious-back-problem?cc=5901&ver=us

Marchetti is a young rising star, he's only 22 and he's on Juve's radar as a long term replacement for Buffon. I would have thought DeSanctus would have been ahead of him but Lippi likes this kid and rightfully so, although he has some HUGE shoes to fill replacing Buffon.

Can't we just start another thread titled "rock_knutne argues with people about Italy" so we can keep it all out of the way yet let them continue on with their pissing match?

rock_knutne;390484 wrote:LOL......yeah, Robinho and Kaka never dive.

Yes they do, but in my years of watching global soccer, Europeans dive way more often that anyone else. Every country has people who dive, but the European countries have more players per team that do it.

But my GOD, how bad was Ronaldo today? He wasnt even close to the dive near the sideline pretty late in the game. I mean, defender was a good 2 feet away. Robben for the Netherlands is another that comes directly to mind as a bad diver. Sergio Busquets for Spain is bad. Iniesta for Spain doesnt really dive, but he is a pretty big fan of embellishing fouls.

My bad, I posted his jersey number instead of his age. Regardless, 27 is young for a goal keeper.
