This makes me really sad. Prayers to the Spielman family. Chris was talking on the radio a few weeks ago about what the plan his family had in place for when the time came.

Columbus, Ohio -- Stefanie Spielman, 42, wife of OSU great Chris Spielman, has died.

42

That government task force sure knows what they're doing with their recommendations to women on not having mammograms until they're 50.

Thoughts and prayers to the Spielman family.

I was privileged to work with Stephanie on two breast cancer awareness campaigns when I worked at the state health department.

She was every bit as warm and genuine in person as she came across as being on television. Just an amazing and courageous woman.

She and Chris had this spiritual connection that you could feel when you were around them. It was like you could feel the warmth of the love they had for one another.

Someone said the Dispatch reported she had had 5 recurrences of cancer in the past 10 years or so; I can't imagine going through the anguish of thinking you might have finally beaten it, only to have it keep coming back.

Again, truly courageous.

Rest in peace, Stephanie, you've earned it.

My parents took a friend of our family down for to the James a few weeks ago and said that Stephanie did not look good.

She is in a better place right now and in no more pain.
