Phoenix has a better record since the all star break than the Lakers. Utah played really well against Denver, but ran into their worst possible matchup in the Lakers.

You think Rondo is good, imagine what Derron Williams would do to the Cavs.

I think Rondo is better than Williams. ESPECIALLY against the Cavs. I'm imagining what Williams would do, and it doesn't come close to what Rondo DID yesterday.

I'd say my argument is every bit as strong as your argument for DWill would be. No doubt they're both very good. As far as the Cavs are concerned, we match up better with DWill than we do Rondo.

I might agree with you regarding Rondo being a worse matchup for the Cavs, but Williams is by far the better player.

By far? Really?

You may want to think about that.

Yes, without a doubt. Rondo is playing lights out, but let's keep it in perspective.

In perspective? He's every bit (probably more) the floor general that DWill is, faster, probably a better rebounder, IMO has better court vision and is a much better defender. Not as well rounded a scorer, but he can sure a shit score.

Williams averaged: 18.7 ppg, 10.5 apg, 4.0 rpg, 1.3 spg, 47% from field
Rondo averaged: 13.7 ppg, 9.8 apg, 4.4 rpg, 2.3 spg, 51% from field

Like I said, let's keep it in perspective. He's lighting up the Cavs, but it's not like he played like this all year. He has elevated his game moreso than anyone else in the playoffs this year.

So....what makes Williams better? Higher PPG? I don't put that too high on my list of priorities when comparing the two (it usually isn't the most important stat for a PG)--Williams has to score more on the team he is on anyways. Rondo shoots a higher percentage. Look at what Rondo does in the playoffs when teams try to lock down some of the big 3. One of the best defenders in the game as well. I'll still take Rondo.

When you are arguably the best player in the NBA and talk about a Championship all season, you can't go out without a sense of urgency and not bring it every single game.

No shit. IMO, I think Joe Johnson might have cost himself some money. I sure as hell wouldn't throw a max deal at him--although there is a scenario where the Knicks could be desperate enough to do it.

Although, IMO, I don't think everyone should be THAT shocked. They're the same team and they got swept by the Cavs last year and Orlando is even more of a nightmare match up for them than Cleveland is. I knew this would be a 4 game series, though I didn't believe it'd be this ugly. But it really isn't that surprising to me, look at their roster--they don't match up with Orlando AT ALL. The way they've built that team down there makes it hard for A LOT of teams to match up with them.

I wouldn't doubt it they have had such bad contracts before

The fact that Williams was 2nd team All NBA and Rondo wasn't would make me believe that a majority think Williams is better.

Williams once again has overall had a bad playoff outing. He has had a couple good games but his lack of defense has put Cleveland in a tough situation (one that I think they will get out of alive!).

I shake my head at anyone that offers Joe Johnson a max contract. Look at his resume. What makes it scream that he's a number-one guy that can lead you far into the playoffs?

D-Will is better than Rondo, but Rondo has the better players around him, and is a tougher matchup for the Cavs. I would rather deal w/ the size of Williams, than the quickness of Rondo.

Rondo has been nothing short of incredible in these playoffs, but I think he's just the perfect fit for this Celtics team. I'm not so sure if he switches places with D. Williams and he's as effective.

The one knack on Rondo is his poor shooting. If he improves that, then look out. The Top Three Point Guard debate seems to change every other month.

if he could consistently hit a jumpshot, then he would be the best pg
